I really liked the gun selection and ability to upgrade and customize them.

But the game really lacks in repeat playthroughs. The Chris segment also really drags it down.

I have never played it.

I lost all interest in Resident Evil when they changed the genre from Third Person Mode to the fucking shit First Person Mode. I hate a detest with a fucking passion First Person Mode games.

My favourite RE game is Revelations 2.

It's way too unfocused. It tries to be too many things and doesn't excel at any of them least of all being a horror game.

It is good though.

For me its top tier for sure. My top 5 favs are 4, 5, 8, 7, and REmake.

Resident evil's characters are about as important as the atmospheric horror. So when they changed from fixed camera to over the shoulder it was still acceptable.

Once they changed over to first person, you lose that character part because as the name applies, first person makes you play from the characters perspective, you are kinda that character at the same time. Ethan will never be as strong character as Chris/Jill/Leon/Claire.

I've never quite understood the love for the various RE protagonists because they're basically just archetypes. Leon is the only one with any personality due to his cheesy RE4 lines.

Ethan has more personality than most of them.

I'd probably rank it something like this:
RE2 Remake
RE4
RE 2 OG
REmake
RE7
RE8

Top ones for me are
RE1 remake.
RE2.
RE2 remake.
RE3.
RE7

Top three for me are REmake, RE2 remake, and maybe RE4.

A lot of people sleep on Revelations 2.

It is a great game with a lot to do and great replay value.

Also the DLCs are pretty damn fun (and Nattys DLC is pretty funny with Lottie talking shit the whole time)

Then there is Raid mode, which is the best multiplayer RE game mode to date.

Raid mode is also excellent in single player. I have every female character in that mode at maximum level.

I also think less of people who like it.
I will cut it one small fragment of slack and say at least it's not RE7.

It's good, but not that replayable. The dollhouse section drags after the first time.

Overall, I'd choose 2make as the best. It's one of the few times I actually wanted dlc.

Nope.

I think I tried a couple of time across my Xbox accounts but it wasn't worth the hassle the way Capcom wanted you to get it.

They should have released it as DLC instead of having to take part in some stupid monthly competition at RE.net

The sloppy-ish aiming worked fine in 7 because the enemies in that game were slower, but in a more actiony game like 8 the aiming/shooting just felt bad. The fact that nobody seems to care about the Mercenaries mode reflects this. 4 worked because the action was arcadey and felt good.

The game takes inspiration from 4 without understanding why those things worked in other areas too. Like, there's the Tetris inverntory but I never once actually had to manage it because I always had enough space to pick up anything.

Ultimately the game wants to be a lot of things but doesn't really nail any of them. It's kind of like 6 in that regard, but unlike 6 it's still a decent game despite everything.

You can do the house in about 5 minutes.
