Those things are tracked and secured surprisingly well, if anyone took them and the store reported it to their state lottery, each ticket anyone tried to cash would be flagged and tell them to go back to the store they purchased it from. When I worked at a place that did lotto, I was real surprised how very strict and involved it all was.

what a buncha animals. like, what kind of human being becomes a part of this and thinks to themselves "this is acceptable". imagine the kind of twisted rationalization going through their heads. seriously, fuck every single one of these people, i hope they all get arrested and charged with felonies.

IMO, every single person in that mob should be responsible for the entirety of the damages done. like, don't charge one guy with the theft of a few bags of Cheetos or some packs of smokes. hold them each accountable for the thousands upon thousands of dollars worth of theft and destruction they caused, in addition to terrorizing of the employee(s).

Thefts like this have a reverberating effect. Big chain stores leave, taking with them good products at low prices. Before you know it, people have to walk or drive miles to find decent stores, and finding employment gets more difficult because of less opportunity. Soon, the area is full of crime because almost all economic activity has left.

The people participating in these thefts sacrifice their neighborhoods future, and stunts its growth, to maybe get away with $50 of snacks and cigarettes. Its honestly sad to see.

Insurance will help, then the store owner has to pay quadruple what he paid before because the threat of this happening again is high. Because of that, the owner closes the shop because he cant afford insurance.

I mean, its nice to have insurance, but usually when something bad happens in an area, insurance prices go up. Its why hurricane insurance in Florida is way more than North Carolina. Theft insurance in this area will skyrocket.
