Before you know it, people have to walk or drive miles to find decent stores, and finding employment gets more difficult because of less opportunity. Soon, the area is full of crime because almost all economic activity has left. The people participating in these thefts sacrifice their neighborhoods future, and stunts its growth, to maybe get away with $50 of snacks and cigarettes.
