Here's something a bit disappointing: LtM said that bringing certain party members along on quests would change them, but I'm bringing [post-game] Melia along to do all the Keves Castle quests now (I somehow missed them earlier...) and none of them acknowledge her presence, sadly. Could've been a lot of fun if they did.

Yeah I noticed that same thing for those same quests, was very strange!

I'm not sure if ANY quest actually handled that besides the Eunie ascension quest??

I'm doing sidequests in Ch. 6. Finally got all of my gems up to at least level 6; the Ellooks had been holding me back for a while.

I haven't finished yet. Debating how many ascension quests I want to bother with since I know I'm probably not going to be doing any post game stuff.

I have been trodding along slowly through chapter 5. Per someone's advice earlier I haven't been mapping the whole sea out but I still stop and go places that look interesting so I'm going at a snails pace regardless. Still working on getting Intel to break into the prison. Do you unlock ascension quests after you do this prison quest or something? I'm ready to dive into those

according to a list I was looking at the first 3 are available as soon as you complete the boat. The rest don't unlock until chapter 6 and 7

I'm still in Chapter 5. I finished exploring the new area but then I had to go run around and refight UMs and try to remember where ones I had to pass on were for Soulhacker.

In theory I should be advancing the plot now again but since I've done everything else at this point I might check on a few Gem materials that I should be able to pick up but somehow haven't while I did all of that.

I have a gem or two where the next level requires like 15 of each material and I am not about that life at this moment in time. But the ones where it's just like one or two of an enemy type I know I've fought but like I just have the wrong rarity (it kills me that you can have a "too high quality" material and it won't count) I don't think I'd mind trying to pick those up. I've generally played in a way that the upgrades come naturally so it shouldn't be that bad.

lol my level 65 party can almost beat these tiny level 95 enemies past a poison area in a cave

Still better just finishing off uniques around my level. Those Level 64 ones around Keves Castle can get me like 700 CP a pop with a good finisher. Learned Lost Vanguard with everyone in just 2 fights.

So as I near the end of this game, I decided to go to my storage locker and dig out my Wii U so I can play X again. I don't know if that's a referendum on this game or I'm enjoying this game enough that it wants me to play more Xenoblade. I don't have any hope for an X remastering so I figure I'll just play the Wii U version.

Hoping for an X Remaster early in the Switch 2's lifespan. Not super optimistic, but it'd be nice for them to wait for a more powerful system.

The lack of an in-game encyclopedia of any kind is so damn painful when you're just missing one item on four different levels of a gem. Even Google is barely any help for a lot of them which I guess isn't too surprising because honestly who can be bothered to find out where the Spindly Fuckstick you need is in this massive game world with zero clues.

The upgrades through rank VII aren't all that bad, and I get most of the mats just by making sure I kill some of each new enemy. The VIII-X mats look pretty ridiculous, though...

About to hit 99 gold nopon coins soon I guess I'll spend it on a Level X Empowered Combo

How is your hero so much higher leveled than your party

Whenever I use bonus EXP on an underleveled hero they end up being a few levels higher than my current team. So maybe their bonus EXP scales differently or something.

I haven't touched Bonus EXP since the tutorial for it - do heroes not just snap to your party's level? Seems like if they join a level or two behind they always jump right into lockstep with the rest of the party after sitting on the bench for a while. Never even considered that you could use Bonus EXP on them!

Heroes don't have to worry about CP gain so no reason not to just max them out on their own.

So the additional story dlc they're doing at the end of the season pass is absolutely, 100% going to be about the Founders of the City, right? Way too much tantalizing stuff going on in there especially between Clone Shulk and (early ch. 6 theory of mine) if alt. Mio and Noah's kid turns out to be the founder of House Vandham.
