Unfortunately it's the opposite. I need neutral to be side.

You can invert neutral and side. Independently for ground and aerial now. But it's still confusing. Some side air moves are air versions of side ground moves and some of them feel like they should be side moves so inverting them feels wrong.

Got to about top 1000 for singles with another hour of play. Starting to get opponents that pose a challenge... and a lot of Shaggy's.

Got killed at 35% from a powered up Shaggy attack.

You just literally cannot interact with him while he has it up. Just run away till he wastes it trying to catch you.

anyone know if the "when hitting debuffed enemies" perks activate only when someone is fully Cooked or Frozen or does having any points of the debuff at all count for those

Okay how in the everloving fuck do you beat Finn in 1v1? When I play Superman I can't hit him at all and all of his moves have armor break for some reason (even his air kick? why does a kick have armor break?)

Even when I switch to Bugs he's so fast I can't keep away from him. And then when I do try to go in he's still unhittable. This Finn wasn't even dodging much he was just using Finn's run speed to shimmy out of attacks and then counter attack.

I feel like I have a chance against anyone else in the cast but I think the Finn v Superman matchup might be 9-1 or 10-0 in Finn's favor.

Finn is just really really good.

Who are the best characters in the game right now?

Generally speaking the Bruiser characters are all pretty great, also Superman. Probably just because they have a lower learning curve, though. I'm sure when the crazies start getting really good the complicated characters will start rising up.

Everything will carry over, you can spend money, and it's publically available from that point, so it's out. The idea of it being a Beta is just a marketing excuse in case things break.

Besides the insane amount of money this would cost, I don't know why people would want this. Time has proven that athletes are typically horrendous voice actors.

I guess some people don't care if something is shit as long as it's legit...which explains the states of most EA sports games over the last decade.

I think LeBron's actually a pretty cool addition, and he looks fun to play. Also, yeah, I'm in favor of LeBron not being the voice actor for the reasons above.

i looked into the leaked characters, and am super bummed that the Animaniacs dont seem to be coming any time remotely soon (there were a lot of data mined character references and none of them are the Warners)

is the menu for picking perks as fucked up on other platforms as it is on PS5? It seems to constantly change the "rules" for how it works and I have to fuck around with it for an extra 20 seconds to actually pick the perks I want

Uh, I don't think so. There's the ability to choose your teammate's perks which depends on their actual loadout at the time, meaning they can disappear afterwards. The weird thing is you cycle between slots to place them in as the categories.

Broke down and bough the $100 founder pack. I figure I'll be able to spend gold on perks if I'm buying characters with tokens.

Also hit rank 135 in 1v1 with my Superman tonight!

I'm sure I couldn't make myself pay $100 for this. I'm struggling to justify 40.

I justified it as buying the game for $60 and 2 season passes for $20 each.

Just pick all 3 of your perks in quick succession without pressing anything else. It looks like you're scrolling up and down with the D-pad or something so you keep assigning new perks over your old perks.

If I have the empty "Slot 2" highlighted, why would selecting anything put it in a slot other than slot 2

are you switching characters a bunch? You unlock the ability to use teammates perks at level 6 on a character by character basis.
