I think this is the first time Ive seen someone other than myself mention Culvers. Theyre fucking fantastic and have way better food than McDonalds.

But anyways it sucks someone stole your order. You can call to tell them it was stolen and they might compensate you in some way at least

Not sure where you live where its twice the price unless youre value menu order only. Everywhere in my area is the same $8-10 for the chicken/burger, fries and drink meal. I think their fries are way better too, but 90% of the time my McDonalds fries are gross unfortunately. I swear they just microwave 5 day old fries sometimes

Using the McD's app at one point was doing buy a QCP, get a free fry and drink and the QCP was $4.50.

I disagree with this. You have to know how to game the system. First off, when your not super hungry, order a kids meal through the drive thru and ask for the free ice cream that comes with it right away. Most of the time they don't rip off the free ice cream voucher on the kids meal bag. Boom, free ice cream for later.

Next time through the drive thru, order a value basket and mention you have a kids meal voucher for free ice cream that you'd like to redeem. When it comes time to pay, don't give them the voucher unless they specifically ask for it (which they never do). Boom, free ice cream.

I have used this tactic to literally get unlimited free ice cream whenever I want there. Also, the prices for combo meals are pretty relatable to McDonalds. I can easily get a shroom and swiss value basket, for example, WITH free ice cream, for $9. McDonald's value baskets are pretty comparable. They are usually around $8-10. And no free ice cream. And Culver's is just so much tastier overall.

Honest take: I find McDonalds the most consistent and arguably the best fast food place

Culvers ice cream is amazing too. I could eat that every single day

I'd probably pay about $15 at Culver's. McDonald's would probably be about $12 but it wouldn't taste anywhere near as good. Worth the extra $3. The value meals are comparable in price, of course. McDonald's seems to have better coupons through their app, though.

Culver's is superior to McDonald's in every way. A big difference is corporate culture. McDonald's is about bottom line and cuts corners where they have to. Culver's wants to deliver a good product and experience. You will notice the difference with employees, too. Most McDonald's employees don't really care and want to ring up your order and be done with it; they're burned out from being overworked and undertrained. Culver's employees are happier, actually trained, and more sociable. I would think this stems from the way they're treated, especially that $19 an hour starting wage. That's like $6 more than McDonald's pays per hour!

I've mentioned Culver's here many a time... but I am from Wisconsin, where Culver's is the semi-official state fast food chain. You have to like Culver's if you wanna live here. I've never seen anything quite like the CurderBurger mania last fall.

I do miss those jumbo burgers Culver's used to sell. This was back in the early 2000s when they stopped doing that. But yeah, the food there is always fresh. Definitely feels a step above typical fast food, and I still hold true that it's not that much more expensive than other places.

I doubt explaining what went wrong, the employee walking back in, explaining to a manager and getting the food redone in 2 minutes was possible. If I was at the window or actually in the restaurant, yeah, I would have tried to correct it. Even though it wasn't their fault. When you get a curbside order, they usually tell you the name for the order or the order's contents to let you know what you're getting. So this lady knew it wasn't her order based on either what they told her and/or when she looked in the bag.

Well, now I'm confused. If you did curbside, how did she "cut you off?" Sounds like McDonald's just screwed up in general. Curbside shouldn't matter what order you park in. "Cut me off" implies you did go through the drive-thru. Also, if you knew the bag was wrong yet didn't do anything about it, why do you expect her to have done something about it? Iunno, man. I need to Phoenix Wright this shit, something doesn't add up.

EDIT: What if the first woman wasn't Katie? What if she was Diane? What if you stole Katie's order? IT ALL UNRAVELS!

I get curbside McD's all the time and am kind of confused how this would happen. Did you choose your parking spot in the app before actually parking there? If so, that's on you.

There's 4 spots, 2 unmarked for drivethru people waiting for their orders and 2 mobile order spots. One had a person in it so I picked the other one.

Furthermore, if "Katie" got a spot, she logically would have put that spot number as her spot, so they would have logically brought both orders to her, not one to her and one to you, with them being in the wrong order.

Admit it, Mr. Hamburglar, you stole Katie's order, and are instead pretending to be a victim to avoid suspicion!

The hierarchy of logical human actions would be something like

1. Check in properly
2. Politely ask them to fix the issue when you see they gave you the wrong order.
3. Not care about it because your time is more valuable than the money you lost

Yes, that's how time works. Before work, it's not worth risking the possibility of being late if it takes them another 5-10 minutes to correct the order. After work, not so much. Also, you make it sound like I'm driving 50 miles out of my way to get to this place. It's a McDonald's on my drive to work. You literally put more time into arguing with me in this topic than I did going back to this place so it doesn't make any sense to argue about time being valuable.
