I'm surprised that hasn't happened yet.

How I see it, pandora's box was opened a long time ago. Even if every single firearm was confiscated, for years and years companies were pumping out the "80% lowers" so anyone with basic power tools could make their own firearms easily. The right has their arsenal stockpiled that the gov't doesn't know about and can be deployed at a moment's notice.

The left needs to counter this. Depending on cops who may very well side with the right or do nothing (Uvalde) when the time comes is not a viable plan.

Sure semiautomatic weapons won't do shit against tanks, but then again, the taliban kind of did win the war in afganistan multiple times by outlasting a superior military force with basic firearms.

From some stuff I'm reading that was one of the reasons for the laws. I don't know the history of it and haven't researched it but there's a lot of comments about how the cops used the law that was just struck down to deny guns to Black and other POC. So isn't this striking down a potentially racist law?

Again, haven't researched it, just some stuff I read that I thought was interesting and worth looking into further.

There's some real backwards logic in #62.

It's bad to remove unwanted cells from your body, but it's okay to be able to carry a weapon that kill other people where ever you go.

Plus last I've heard the issue of children being killed has been from guns.

You don't have to get an abortion. Just shut the fuck up and let other people get them.

Republicans get appalled when they are moderated on social media, so they think the proper response is to use the government to brand people they don't like as murderers and child molesters.

I'm glad you'll be throwing a party while I'm dragged to death row for existing in a way that offends you.

Pretty easily, since it's as simple as following the Constitution. The Constitution says you have the right to bear arms, so you do. It says nothing about the right to scrape the "unwanted cells" (of your child) out of your body, so until the legislature says you do per the 10th, you don't. It's really that simple.

So since the Constitution doesn't explicitly say I have a right to be gay, I am out of luck? When I get arrested as a "groomer", you'll shrug your shoulders and suggest I should have been a founding father to write a different Bill of Rights?

The second amendment doesn't say YOU have the right to bear arms. Here's literally what it says:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.

I take this to interpret that a well regulated Militia, made up of the people, shall have the right to keep and bear arms.

But then he'll definitely pigeon hole the First Amendment when his people continue to oppress the freedoms of minorities more and more.

The militia is the whole of the citizenry. We know this both from the writings of the founding fathers, and from court precedent. The amendment exists to ensure the government cannot prevent a citizen from exercising his right to bear arms in order to participate in the well-regulated militia to defend themselves and ensure a free state.

Yes. The second amendment does not grant you the right to bear arms. It says the government has no authority to infringe on that right. So any ban on any arms is unconstitutional. To place any infringement on an armament would require a constitutional amendment.

As hysterical as you are, I'd still recommend you exercise your second amendment rights to arm yourself. Feel free to spend all your time rocking in your closet holding a weapon, as is your right in this blessed land.

When Roe v Wade goes away, you know it won't outlaw abortions nationwide, right? It will... become a states issue consistent with the 10th amendment.

Hopefully soon after that, the Court recognizes that the government is as responsible for protecting the lives of fetuses the same as any other American. But that's a different court case.
