One person exercising their 2nd Amendment right could potentially change the make-up of the Supreme Court with one gun and a few bullets.

Anyone who hates the ruling doesnt live in New York or lives in a good neighborhood in new york. This city has become a violent shitfest and I feel much safer carrying.

And before the eventual overturning of Roe v. Wade, state laws banning abortion shouldve been struck down as flying in the face of the controlling judiciary of the nation.

Im pro-choice, for the record, and always have been; it isnt my place to decide what a woman does with her own body, given that shes more affected by a pregnancy than I ever could be.

But just because those laws hadnt been struck down doesnt mean they shouldnt have been.

Well guns are protected under an amendment, while abortions aren't. These decisions(sadly) reflected that.

However, both should be constitutionally protected rights. As well as same sex marriage.

While I respect your point, they have taken liberties with their interpretation of the second amendment as well. The second amendment just says the right shall not be infringed. It doesnt say you have a specific right to open carry, conceal carry, etc. The optics of all of that have been left to interpretation and they just blatantly expanded on it when that isnt in the Constitution either. As angry as this shit makes me Im always down for discussions on this, I love talking about the law and such. But I agree, all of these things should be constitutionally protected. And they could be if we had a legislative branch that actually did its job, as they could have amended the Constitution. Until they do that, any rights given by judicial actions can be taken away just like has happened today.
