Ok so I think I can articulate better why I don't like Lea's claim as town. First off, there is no Chris thats is confirmed to not be on her team, so the arguments that its the first post, its content, unlike last game blah blah blah, is completely and 100% moot. No Chris means that scum can afford to be more daring and not have to worry about their play being under a giant magnifying panel. So any of that she played different is completely and utterly moot.

The claim itself is such a misuse of power as town and an attempt to preemptively explain away why they are untargetable as scum. I consider Lea to be a better player as town and more devious as scum, which is why that claim does not track for me as a town claim. She takes any possible benefit for town that her role could have and throws it away out of fear that she might get mislynched if town targets her? I don't believe anyone comes into this game and looks at the player list and believes there is a 100% chance they get mislynched over this role as town.

I had more thoughts but got distracted irl and now I can't really articulate them very well so ill just leave this as I've seen it so far and add more when I can.

I think I've played one game with Plum in the past like 5 years, and we were both Scum in it, so are you sure this is the feeling you want to go with?

Additionally, the trap is simply that he knows I am Town, therefore he is not framing his defense of me as if I could be Scum. That's not a trap, he's just not responding like a Town player usually would.

Haven't you both been in every game since mafia returned, I know I missed one or two of them but I thought I remembered you both in every game I have been in.

Just to add, I wouldn't count last game because I was in it for a day and did absolutely no following of it after night 1.

tbqh it makes total sense to claim town untargetable immediately if that is in fact your role. If a cop scans her and says "I get no result when I scan Lea", it looks very bad for her and leads to a possible mislynch.

If she is in fact telling the truth, do you think it's more likely for a town role to visit her than a scum role?
Because if a town role is more likely to visit then she is certainly doing the right thing by claiming.

Okay I come back to see Plum is still only spending/wasting time asking questions which I dont know where they are going.

Plus what Han said does add up to it looking like Plum just has a natural scums defense mindset. (cant even conceive of calling Han scum because he knows Han is town)

I have no idea. I would rate her as a mid level priority based on the player list. Obviously that can change based on who is actually on the scum team. Like if Ben, Han, Red, Ulti and you were scum, I could see her raising in priority but if all of them were town I could see her being a lower priority.

Ironically, it actually happened in Chris Discusses Mafia in the exact post that was being discussed earlier that Death brought up. However, Han was scum that game so he in fact knew that Red was town.

Thoughts on Death, Tidus?

It looks like Death is actually trying to hunt for scum, but I remember someone in an earlier game saying that death could act anti-town as town, town lean on Death though because it looks hard to fake scum hunting so well as scum.

egarding Ben, do you think that post alone is going to actually encourage people to avoid lynching him (or Lea)? What do you think ScumBen gains from it if Lea is also scum, besides overtly drawing attention to a connection between them?

It could work depending on who the town actually is, but there will almost always be some who go against that kind of post. It simply has to work on enough people so that it significantly reduces his chance of getting lynched.

ScumBen's goal here could be convincing others that Lea's claim is real(if so, amazing teamwork here). It backfires if he is lynched though, hence the first part of his post

Hey Red, given you've actually done not a single thing to make me think you're Scum aside from me just saying other people looked Townish, so I'm not actually writing you off, what do you think of Plum being obvScum so far?

Yeah so, when I said I was observing I was sitting back and letting Han and Sheep go after Plum because it seemed like there was a chance Han was doing exactly that and pointing out who seems like the easiest to go after on page 1 after I called everyone else but Plum town.

But between this battle of Plum and Han - Plum lost lol. The simple answer is Plum is actually scum and things are simple. Ulti's read on Plum also tracks with me for how I feel about Plum on this day's posts.

Sorry for my lack of activity today. My mom called me over to help her out and I ended up spending most of the day with my parents. This was totally unforeseen (I will be over there a few hours tomorrow for Father's Day, but just that).

Anyway, back to replying. Sorry for a Kirby-esque wall of text here but this is because I wasn't around earlier.

Once, a long time ago. All I could tell you about that game was that I was 100% certain Corrik was scum (he was) and was told "Nah this is how he is." I am still green enough to not know what to do with zero information and barely any memory of playing. Again, I've only played four times before - once here, once at a small forum (killed N1), one weird hybrid game, and something on AIM in like 2009 that may or may not have been Mafia because I don't recall details.

We should be more focused on finding scum than arguing about me not knowing what the hell I'm doing. Pretty sure I was like "Guys, what am I supposed to do here on Day 1?" four years ago too.

I read most of Day 1 and the last day of the last game. I also read the one before that (Chris's Kingmaker game) pretty intently. I am indeed "oblivious" because I just can't associate who played what way since I was a mere viewer. It all starts to blend together unless I am in on the action. I was legit trying to think of something to say on the first page and couldn't come up with anything.

As for MZero and Ben... I think MZero's doing a fine job of defending himself, but I have no strong reads in either direction yet. And joke or not, Ben asking people to treat him as town in response to Lea's claim is mighty sketchy though.

But, again, until there's a flip, I can't really have much of a read on people. I don't have enough experience to do that.

Scum only has to target Lea once and they'll know she's untargetable, so they would only have to waste one night action. Town would likely not claim their action right away which means there's more potential to waste multiple town actions because the info isn't shared. So I think the way she claimed was generally pro-town
