Young Souls(Story Rich Brawler RPG)

Description: Young Souls is a gorgeous 2D brawler meets story-rich action RPG. Fight hordes of belligerent goblins, level up with hundreds of weapons and accessories, explore, and journey between worlds, as rebellious twins battle their way to save their foster father.

My thoughts: Really really fun combat, love the art, very very likable main characters, and it's got some really great, memorable plot twists at the end of the game that transform it into something that was pure fun into a truly emotional experience. IIRC it's on all 3 major consoles as well.

It's also part of game pass, yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay!

ANNO: Mutationem(Side Scrolling Cyberpunk Action RPG set in big Cyberpunk City)

Description: ANNO: Mutationem is an action-adventure game with RPG elements set in a cyberpunk world, featuring a unique mix of pixelated 2D & 3D graphic style with a rich, dark and bizarre plot.

My thoughts: I've only played a couple hours so far, but it's a really fun, beautiful looking game set in a city that really draws you in with its atmosphere, and it's fun to explore the city!

Pretty sure that it's pc only sadly. Somone please tell me if I'm wrong.

Weird West(Supernatural Dark Fantasy Wild West Action RPG that feels very similar to Fallout 2)

Description: Survive and unveil the mysteries of the Weird West through the intertwined destinies of its unusual heroes in an immersive sim from the co-creators of Dishonored and Prey.

My thoughts: My game of the year so far! It's combat is really SUUPER fun in its simplicity.(With bullet time included!) and like with the 90's Fallout 2 there's often multiple solutions to solving quests, giving it an immersice sims feel. I wanna say that I can't recommend it enough, but I've got friends who have told me about their issues with the game, and I understand why you wouldn't like this, but if you're a fan of 90's isometric rpgs, there's a good chance you'll love this too!

Rogue Legacy 2(first rogue-lite I was able to beat. It's got suuuuuuper good accessability options, something I wanna see more of in rogue-lites and souls-lites)
Sea Horizon(a Roguelike turn-based RPG. hope there's an easy mode)
Cat Powered UFO ( blend of turn-based RPG combat and old-school Zelda top-down action. SO gotta watch it.)
Citizen Sleeper( TTRPGs inspired 3d Text based interactive fiction cyberpunk)

No.

Mainly because none of them really look like something I'd be all that interested in at this point in my gaming life. You've pretty obviously focused on a specific type/genre of game there, and it's not really the sort of game I'm enthusiastic about (in the same way that, say, the greatest platformer ever made is still going to be a shit game to someone who doesn't like platformers).

The only game I've really enjoyed this year is Shredder's Revenge. There is still another 1/2 a year to go - but it is rare to find good new games anymore.

Yeah he doesn't bother with it much. To be fair I think he's fairly busy with his personal life to be frequenting boards

They fit all sorts of niche, but more importantly they're really different in a good way, which is why I want to shout them out.

If you're like me, that "niche" is nearly impossible to meet. I need to know I'm going to enjoy something before I invest time into it.

I didn't say there was anything wrong with the games you suggested, just may not be for everyone.
I have a friend that's obsessed with indie games too.
