SpO2 91% which is kind of scary since I don't smoke or anything. Headache is unbearable. Feels like death. I guess it's nice that I have somehow managed to avoid it for 2 years, but this sucks.

I'm on my second bout with it. I got it from my brother-in-law last year, and a friend last week. Not sure how much longer I'm gonna be positive, but I had a bad cough for a few days, and now I'm asymptomatic despite still testing positive this morning.

Had it last month. About 10 days total, days 2 and 3 were absolutely terrible then just got progressively better other than blowing an obscene amount of snot every day

Is that even normal? A nurse told me once to go to the hospital if mine dropped below 90%, but that was when I had COVID.

Also TC, can you call a teledoc or something? They may be able to tell you what your next move should be.

There's that new COVID pill and also that antibody treatment that's effective within the first 5 days that symptoms show up.

Also a nurse said you can tell there's something wrong with your oxygen when your nails start turning blue.

Honestly, if you're having trouble breathing while at rest I would seek medical advice immediately.

When I had COVID, I only had trouble breathing when I exerted myself like lifting heavy stuff, etc. At rest it was pretty much normal so of course I had to take it easy.

I had it myself last year. Was bedridden with Horrible muscle pains, headaches, couldn't take deep breaths without coughing, preventing me from breathing, nor breath chilly air either or I'd cough.....which was pretty hard in the middle of winter, lol.

This all made it very hard for me to get proper air, my skin turned pale and and I had to consciously regulate my breaths to a certain tempo.

Which took crazy mental fortitude. Honestly I can she how many would lose their cool, and panic at some point having to do this constantly for over a week.

While 91% would be lower than normal at Sea Level (think New York or Los Angeles) it would not be worrisome at 5000 feet above sea level (think Denver or Bogot) and not bad at all at 8000 feet (think Cheyenne or Albuquerque).

Many people with lung disease have some degree of ventilation/perfusion imbalance and in them, 91% may be what they are used to. Typically, insurance will not pay for oxygen unless saturation is 88% or lower, at least part of the time.

There is a reason why the saturation is 91%. Unless you are in the mountains, see your doctor to find out what the reason is.

You're thinking of oxygen dissociation into plasma. Hemoglobin will saturate with oxygen near 100% even when atmospheric oxygen is cut by a third.
