I can count two occassions where I was browsing reddit and found my way onto a conpsiracy/alt-right/white supremacy related website through nothing but morbid curiosity. I didn't know if they were satire or serious but I didn't stick around long enough to find out. Needless to say my faith in the human race lapsed big-time in both instances.

The Webbot Forums (I don't know if this still exists, last time I checked was around 2020, it's a private prepper forum that hasn't had registrations in years iirc. Basically everything revolving around Clif High's cult).

Early Darknet sites before the 3-letter agencies started buckling down on them.

8chan's (and later 8kun's) /qresearch/ board (It was structured like an actual cult), 8chan's /b2/

Early 8chan offshoots. Most of them are dead and gone now. Still a few crazy ones out there, one of which I semi-infrequently visit because the posting quality has gone way down and it's way too racist for my liking.

Hope mods don't find this post against the rules, most of these sites are long dead and gone. Life's not worth risking when you get into your 30s.

Probably outside an RP cult's bar meeting in an EverQuest on the Rallos Zek server. Sent in the root pet then did the 3 wave mage fire. They didn't know what hit them. Justice was served.

This is how I feel about PotD. I stick around mostly due to curiosity. It has been crazy to see the site slowly deteriorate into its current state.

But early 2000's 4chan was some pretty nasty stuff along with Stile Project.

A few days ago I found my way onto one of those "free speech" forums for vidya games/weeb stuff where you can say anything and not get banned (provided you don't break the law of course). That's how I got to one of the sites in the OP. I get why places like these exist, but they just come across to me as groups of people bitter that they can't throw slurs around without being called out. I sometimes wonder what these people are like irl.

But on the flip aside I could just be very thin-skinned. I fully admit that.

Now I'm interested in what OP stumbled upon.

On that site I visited the other day I saw a meme video that featured what I assume to be a gay man in the middle east being pushed off a roof. Thankfully it didn't appear too graphic.

Anywho, it's a very disturbing movie. Never wanted to get revenge on someone more than the psychopath in this movie. I usually am not upset with movies since they aren't real, but this one got to me.

Back in the 90's, a site completely devoted to pictures of people shitting themselves in public. Not the "oops I farted and it was wet" kind, but the "OMG, burn those pants, that chair, and everything in the room" kind. Not sure how I ended up there if I am being honest. Was probably sent the link by my dad.

For the longest time, I was convinced you lost control of your bowels when you passed out drunk because the majority of the pictures were people passed out drunk at parties with shit in their pants.

I remember my brother renting Faces of Death from some local Pic-a-Flick when we were kids. My Dad found out and burned that shit hahaha. They wanted my bro to pay $50 bucks for it. My Dad gave them a 10 and said we wouldn't come back. That's right about when Blockbuster started appearing. I think it was around 1990 or so. It was when they had those laminated membership cards.

I can't even find their storefront anymore. There seems to be knockoffs that existed with flic instead of flick.

I used 8chan way back when it got a bunch of refugees from that minor reddit split. That was the era of hotwheels and it was what you'd expect from a combination of 4chan and reddit, nothing crazy. I left because they all became really bitter and then years later I guess some sort of radicalization took place. I don't know what 8kun is nor do I know who runs the website now, if it even still exists.

Yeah, I used to use 8Chan quite a bit, mainly because it had a dedicated Furry board, there were actually some other nice boards there where people weren't overtly hostile or dickheads, for the most part anyway. it feels weird when people generailize it as an Alt-Right cespool, because there was a ton of boards with wildly different topics and people. I never used the /pol or other political boards or anything so i don't know what went on there, but it sucks they seemingly got the site killed and buried.
