I don't think Phil knows what the fuck he is saying half the time.

Let's not forget some of his most memorable quotes are him blaming others for stuff he specifically did incorrectly.

I'm pretty sure the original plan for the release date reveal was the same post that went up, just like a week earlier. Something happened that caused Sony to delay the announcement a whole long week, but I highly doubt it was the "trolls." Of course, DSP has to relate it to the trolls and his situation, but it's not.

He reads all the text aloud for his chat. He doesn't do voices for the main characters. Except. He does a "special" voice for Barret. And you know exactly what it is.

I'm not sure I'd go as far as to cry racism, though it's definitely leaning up that wall. I just find it fascinating you can predict his behavior like this. Nobody would have expected anything else from him and he delivers the lowest bar possible everyone expects him to deliver.

Also, when last he played the game he was doing the Shinra tower and complaining and whining about how its shit and awful and not good JRPG gameplay and shit and he was crying about a dungeon requiring you to do progress before you could save said progress. So he finally gets to a point where he can return to the save point at the bottom floor and goes to the save screen and ends the stream, gives thanks for donations, talks a bit about upcoming content, etc.

And then he closes the game down.

...Without saving.

Prepare for some juicy rage about how it's the game's fault and he did nothing wrong.

I guarantee if he got over $200 in tips he would laugh it off.

I mean if you have Amazon Prime you get free shipping, and you're paying the same price at launch either way (not like Elden Ring was less than $60 if you got it digital, for instance). Though the point was that it was too much work, not that it cost too much out of his pocket, and it's possible to be a lazy as fuck couch potato and still go physical, he's just reaching an unbelievable level of laziness to where the act of getting up off his couch and to get a package in the mail is too much effort.

Don't have a reliable restreamer for today's shitty marathon, and the original source videos aren't up yet (and would be uploaded out of order since this brainlet still doesn't know how youtube works after 14 fucking years), but I'll settle with the many comments on the farms and the image of him looking like he just bit into a rock and image of him holding a rib to the camera like it's some kind anomaly that it has a bone.

I don't think anything DSP does would be shocking at this point. It wouldn't surprise me if he actually made ribs himself and was shocked there were bones in those, too.

Coupled with the fact that he always has to be the victim, I wouldn't be surprised him complaining that hamburgers contain beef.

Why though? Being a terrible person is one thing, but what's the big deal about playing games the way you want with a more modern twist? This is more about gaming in general. I don't understand why people get so bothered about the way other people choose to play their games

Because it shows that even after phil has been playing a variety of games for his career, and nearly his whole life he still sucks at them.

If you're bad at your job, you get trained, mentored or let go.

I don't care that he's bad at games. I don't think you can say that's being bad at your job, because when you're an """entertainer""" like him there can even be value in that. Him being bad at games matters because he thinks he's amazing and constantly blames games for his own inability to play them or think like a functional human being. That five minute video I saw of him using save states in Legend of Zelda isn't just about him playing the game how he wants, it's about how he's using save states as a crutch to not have to learn anything about how the game works because if he dies he can just go back 20 seconds instead of 10 minutes, so he can bang his head continuously against a wall until the game's AI slips up and lets him through, instead of him trying out a method that might actually work consistently to get past the challenge in question. All the while complaining and whining about the game being bad because it's hard.

I've said it before in these topics I think, but my favourite This Is How You Don't Play of all time is Crash Team Racing by The0utsyder because it showcases exactly this behavior in him to the extreme. He never learns the game's drift mechanics or how to use items and throughout the entire playthrough he just whines and moans and bitches about how the game is a piece of shit. He fights the same boss for over an hour never trying anything new, just doing the exact same thing until he gets a lucky break that allows him to take the victory, not learning a single thing from any of his attempts. If you're at all interested in TIHYDP content, I strongly recommend it.

Becoming a streamer doesn't mean you are only good at your job if you are good at games. That's like saying someone with a mental or physical disability or even just someone inexperienced with games could never be good at their job because they might never be good at games. And this continues to be my problem with you. You consistently say shit without realizing how demeaning or hurtful it can be to other people just because you are obsessed with going after DSP. A good streamer doesn't come down to being good at games, it's about being a good entertainer that interacts endearingly with their audience. This is a more thoughtful assessment because what makes himm terrible is not the fact that he wants to take advantage of save states, but his inability to learn anything about the game or his mistakes and keep things positive and entertaining for the audience. You made it more about the entertainer role instead of tearing someone down for approaching a classic game with modern sensibilities

Oh I am absolutely okay with the notion for people to play games the way they want.

But if your entire income is dependant on it, it sure as hell isn't fun or entertaining to watch someone reload a save state for 20 minutes straight while he insults his audience.

He is not a gamer in the first place, but an entertainer. I say this, because there a people who can make watching paint dry fun.
