Now I never played the series. But I have a friend who is a huge fan of the series so I know something about this.

Okay so I see so many attacking the game calling it predatory and stuff like that. But I will give you a hing. Hear me out. IT IS A GATCHA GAME! All are the same! They are designed to take your money, not having fun.

Okay you can have fun BUT not enough fun by not paying. I have played a lot of gatcha games and I know. Sure this one maybe be worse that most but even the ones that aren't that bad require money to be able to enjoy fully. So yeah I don't geit

Frankly one of my most played games of the past 6 years, FF: Record Keeper, is a gacha and is incredibly fun. What a weird acceptance of 'well games do this so it's ok'

People hate gachas by default because their primary existence depends on making money from gambling addicts so its fair.

If you played a lot of gacha games you should know that there is a huge disparity between how each of they feels to play when you compare them simply based on their monetization and what they push for you to spend on etc and how good the f2p experience feels. Honestly, saying that "every gacha game wants you to spend so they are all the same" is something that someone who is very ignorant of the genre would say.

Immortals issues are... extreme. It's possibly the most p2w game I've touched and the game is not even good. Sure, it's fine for a little while. The early experience is pretty fun and all, but MOST gacha games have good early experiences. The playing field is just so uneven once it matters. Immortal might be the most p2w game ever, and I have played Girls X battle/ninjagirls and this is a gacha game that required you to spend 200 dollars before you could even start to pull on their best gacha. That game is f2p compared to Immortal.

I don't have phones

it's made by an extremely famous and previously revered company that has found ways to bother pretty much everybody in the gaming zone, so it's easy for everyone to gather together and connect over the tale of their fall from grace

there are plenty of shit games out there that i haven't thought about for more than 2 seconds, but diablo is kind of situated right at the metaphorical watering hole

You seem to understand why people don't like gacha games, so I'm not sure why this topic exists

Well then I will say that I will check in a month to see if it has made money. Because in the end that is what matters.

See here is what I don't get it. You need to spend a lot of money right? But that is you want to be like max at everything correct? But do you really need max at everything to enjoy the game? This I don't get it.

Seems that it is even worse than I thought. I see now. But still the only thing that matters is if it makes a lot of money. Hope it doesn't make much.

Other games with gambling addiction is fine, but when it comes a series I like then whoa! This isnt ok!

uh, this happens with literally everything. You see a lot of people start fundraising for breast cancer research when their wife gets it, for example.

diablo fans be like "there's a diablo game on mobile? worst mobile game ever made" even when it turns out to be actually playable and fun (fine print: as long as you aren't a nerd whose only enjoyment is in grinding, in which case your bank account can go straight to hell)

Diablo is all about the grinding though, so it is in a bad place tbh

I converted some of my massive stash of wow gold to b.net balance and spent like 10 dollars just to see how it felt. Fun game, stripped down from d3 a bit too much, and honestly if it was half as exploitative I could probably give it a pass but geesh

i do wonder though if they intended for grinding to still be a real focus in a (hopefully would-be) pick up and play mobile title. like for as egregious as the many times beyond illegal systems here seem to be, they're centred around focuses for core diablo but not for what (most) mobile games structure themselves around and diablo has good core actual gameplay unlike an average exception/gacha. this is ultimately still a spinoff to introduce mass audiences to the series for the first time and quite possibly not actual core fans, and also probably made to fund development on future projects like a diablo 4 which they probably need as much of as they are manipulating out of consumers if we're being honest here after the long development on it and well... blizzard things lol. so yeah idk i'm not sure either way honestly, it's slimy and awful but maybe not literally "reptile game made by reptiles made of 100000 dollar bills". or maybe it is and they just decided to come up with the most disgusting monetisation system ever conceived since vtuber superchats out of spite against humanity and/or vtubers for their lack of papery reptile skin. either or
