I'm pretty split on Spire vs Train but they are by far the kings of roguelike deckbuilders

I thought spire was good, but way too easy as someone who has played magic draft for a decade. Havent played the other one.

I would go inscription, with the caveat that it isnt because of the card combat

Oh also just remembered Fights in Tight Spaces is a strong entry in the genre, although aesthetically very different

I bounced off Dicey Dungeons after like 5 hours, didn't care for it

Inscryption is good but........ different, kinda bad for actual Spire-like play

Didn't really get into Hand of Fate

Why yes, I do actually like all three of these more than both of the games in the title too.

But regarding the games in the title, I prefer Monster Train for sure. I tried really hard to get into StS on multiple occasions, totaling 54 hours according to Steam, and I just... can't. Find the gameplay extremely brutal and unfair and I just couldn't grasp it even after reading guides. Just not my thing. I don't like the art and music much either.
