Some of these answers don't check out imo.

There is ZERO reason to believe men have gotten WORSE in the harassment department post #metoo. Its particularly ironic where countries where women have the highest standards of safety and the most objectively civilized and safe men complain about how "unsafe" dating is for them.

Not to mention one of the most basic definitions of harassment, is arguably bullshit and is half the problem.

It is completely normal to feel uncomfortable at times during a date...I've had moments on a date where I felt uncomfortable and I've had women make advances on me that weren't the smoothest or best calibrated and I didn't feel 100% comfortable, but as long as I knew the women were in good faith, I would never gas light them for trying.

But the "good faith" part is the problem. Decades ago, if a man put his arm around a girl on a date, even if it made her feel a bit uncomfortable as it might have been slightly uncalibrated and a bit too early in the date, she knew he was just communicating that he liked her so she would give him the benefit of the doubt. Plenty of women still do give men this benefit of the doubt...but many women do not, and trying to figure out which type of girl you're on a date with and where her boundaries are has become a far riskier affair than ever.

SOMEONE has to make the first move physically, and quite frankly, both genders are absolute dog shit at subcommunicating when it should be, not to mention really shy people sometimes have such little dating experience they themselves don't know when it should be lol

So yeah, the war on human touch (male touch in particular) is one of the hills I'm willing to die on as it is single handedly fucking up the course of human evolution. An overwhelming majority of men and women NEED the touch barrier broken in order for sex to happen, sex needs to happen in order for relationships and babies to happen, and unfortunately part of dating is you're going to have people you aren't attracted too shoot their shot, but if you completely villainize one of the most important processes of attraction, the guys you ARE or might potentially be attracted too will skip the process...

That much is obvious by now considering how much of the thread is spent devoted to:

1. Coming up with conjectures to explain why people aren't dating.
2. Confusing people who are trying to date but unable find an appropriate partner with people who aren't dating at all.
3. Coming up with conjectures as to why the previously mentioned people can't find a partner.
4. Repeatedly stating nonsense like "girls can get laid any time they want so no reason to date anyone"

Just in my experience, having moved to NYC last summer, I've found online dating... Surprisingly easy? I'm 5'9" and don't make very much, but I've nevertheless managed a good string of dates over the last few months.

At least on Hinge. Tinder and Bumble haven't gotten me very far, admittedly.

So like, women in their 20s avoiding dating unless they find an absolute catch because they have other goals and want to hit them before they are in their 30s...sounds good.

And men whose only goal in life is to have a hot chick are pretty cringe. You will find many failed marriage is because one or the other in the marriage was like this (guy or the girl).

Not everybody has to be in a relationship. Being single your whole life is a perfectly fine thing to do. For some reason though this seems to only be acceptable for men to do it.

But certain thresholds have to be maintained to keep society thriving. We are teetering on a number of thresholds that drive society down to the ground. More and more males are exiting out of society. The male incel population hasn't stopped growing, and on the flipside, the MGTOW population is also growing and trying to convince guys marriage is a bad deal and stop bothering with women. On the women's side, women are overwhelmed with options and can't seem to pick and stick with a single guy (as divorces are mostly initiated by women) and we're ending up with ironic situation that women who have more abundance of options than ever are ending up single and with their dating chances evaporating.

Society has problems and they must be addressed or some other country will be able to take over and enforce their ideals upon us.
