I've watched the first two episodes. The second episode kinda gave me Breaking Bad vibes, reminded me of the Krazy-8 thing early on, but the resolution was rather stupid. I'm also not sure this show is just gonna be dark for the sake of being dark or if it's actually going to be good. The general idea behind the premise though, I like, and it's been watchable so far. Karl Urban's character is great and the Homelander seems like a decent villain character, but then like the invisible guy, the fast guy, and the fish guy are kinda more obnoxious than anything so I'm not sure whether I'm going to want them to get their comeuppance or want them off the screen.

So I guess what I'm saying is I'm not exactly hooked in any case and I feel like there are a ton of series out there to watch.

Is it good? Does it get better? How many episodes should I give it to stop being off the fence?

I thought it was good from the start and only improved as it went on. There's definitely a point to all the violence and darkness I feel. Give it like two more episodes (you'll see the Boys form the full group with their last member) to see how you feel then.

Its awesome

I really like it but I'd say if you're halfway through season 1 and not feeling it, walk away.

I'm watching Severance now and I can't recommend that enough.

Season 1 was fun, season 2 was a slog. Feel like they tried to be way too "current events" and lost sight of what made the first season work

I like it, some parts are better than the comics, some are worse, I am guessing you wont enjoy it much tho

To be clear it is definitely "good" right now but not good enough that I feel a need to keep with it. It's kind of a lukewarm good and yeah the violence/darkness is having me wonder if it'll be awkward/annoying to watch or if it'll enhance it. Like I definitely haven't felt awkward yet but if it escalates I dunno, maybe? Like I definitely thought the way they killed the invisible guy (episode 2) was just kinda dumb and I didn't find it particularly satisfying how it got resolved which kinda goes down to the whole "will I care if these guys get comeuppance or not" and it's like, is it going to be juvenile or made better.

I guess I'm kinda paranoid because there was this UK show Misfits that had a vaguely similar premise and style that turned really bad as I kept with it. Not to say I was thinking that this show was going to pan out like that one because they're totally different flavors early on but yeah.

You're saying there's a point to it though and it's overwhelmingly winning the poll here so I'll keep with it a few more episodes as per your and bryans's suggestion.

I liked season 2 even better than the first and can't wait for season three in a couple weeks!

I think it's, at worst, worth watching. I really enjoy the show.

I don't think you really have to worry too much about people getting "their comeuppance" though. Without spoiling much, I'll say the other superhero characters will all have their own agendas and problems that might change how you feel about them.
