Poor Dragonite and Hydreigon

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/4/6/8/AANyLIAADN7M.jpg
We're focusing on the rest of the megas over the next few days, starting with the pseudo-legendaries. The gen 2-4 pseudos each got a mega in gen 6, taking their BSTs up to a ridiculous 700. But who is the best?

Mega Salamence looks like the Rebel Alliance logo from Star Wars and that is the only thing I remember about any of these four abominations.

Tyranitar > Metagross > Salamence > Garchomp

Tyranitar finds the happy medium between badass and overdesigned. Metagross is great also and looks exactly like it should. Salamence is... okay, I guess. And Chompy just looks like an aged version of itself, in no way badass.

Mega Garchomp is arguably a downgrade over it's base form because it goes from outspeeding almost every dragon to being outsped by almost every dragon (among a lot of other things). It's new ability also necessitates you run it with sand and locks you into one specific team archetype.

It deserves last~

I don't get what they were trying with Mega Tyranitar at all. At least Garchomp gets scythe hands, T-tar gets... several pointy appendages? IDK. Salamence is a strange one but I appreciate they put more effort into the design than 'make it spikier', and Megagross is decent and wins by default (though I don't like its chin spike).

it was probably to modernise its monster of the week look in some obscure referential way i guess (shrug)

anyway for me mega t-tar actually wins by default because i don't like it significantly less than its non-mega form (like i do with the others). (ok mega metagross is cool but yeah the spike is unfortunate)

I despise all of these, design-wise. The only one which makes an attempt at an interesting idea is Salamence, so it gets my vote by default despite being hideous. I know Megas are intended to take a "more is more" approach, but Garchomp and Tyranitar especially look like they just gave a kid Pokemon models and glue and told them whatever they stuck on would be the new look.

Salamence > Metagross > Tyranitar > Garchomp

Azumarill only getting third yesterday is an absolute travesty.
