I like real books, but ebooks are so convenient.

I like reading real books on my Kindle Paperwhite. Digital ink is where it's at.

Yeah using a Kindle is honestly so much more comfortable.

I like real books more. But the kindle is very convenient/useful/handy

I prefer physical media, books, CDs, DVDs etc.

I always read real books. Because I hate staring at a screen while reading (pause for moment of irony).

I probably read a new book every few weeks or so. Mainly history and sociology stuff these days.

I still read more real books but reading from my iPad is also more convenient (it has a backlit screen for one thing).

Reading Twitter all day isn't good enough?

I'd likely be reading more physical books if I were not so averse to spending money on them.

I still prefer reading books on paper than using a kindle or something similar. Too much staring at the screen bothers my brain.

Ebooks allow me to read far more than I could with paper alone. I can get thousands of books for free through services like Standard Ebooks, unglue.it, and Project Gutenberg. I've gotten literally hundreds of books for absurdly low prices thanks to Humble Bundles, and I've gotten many for $2 or less through Amazon's Kindle Deals of the Day. I currently have over 1500 ebooks in my library, more than I'll probably ever be able to read in my lifetime, and I've spent only a few hundred dollars. To get these books in paper I'd have had to spend tens of thousands and they'd take up an entire room of my house!

And I can read in more places. The newest Kindle models are waterproof, so I can read in the bathtub. With a built-in light I can read anywhere from direct sunlight to complete darkness. And I can take a single small device with me and have my entire library at my fingertips.

And the Kindle is easier to read. I have full control of the layout of the book: font, size, line spacing, margins, alignment, etc. I've had paper books that were so poorly laid out as to be nearly unreadable but the same book on the Kindle looks perfect. My spouse and I could read the same books, but with my good closeup vision I keep the font size almost as small as it can go while my husband's presbyopia made him crank it up to large print.

It's been over a decade since I could read one, but that decade feels more like a century.

I think it depends Some are connected to an account (Like Kindle) So you could get a new device and redownload

I prefer real books but I've occasionally dabbled in e-books

I'd like to get back into reading actual books again, but I really don't have the books shelf space to store them like I used to since I moved.

Thinking about picking up audio books instead.

If you have Calibre this shouldn't happen...

But I love reading from a kindle. I carry it with me everywhere and I just take it out to read whenever needed. I do kind of wish I had the button to turn page feature or the warm light feature but I'll get to it one day. It's honestly no different from reading a book, except it's thin, easier to carry, and has a backlight that lights it up perfectly than whatever bullshit those bendable lights for books have. I often read with a fan so I don't have pages flapping around when I'm trying to read, nor do I have to hold the book in place to read what I want without it trying to shut itself closed. And changing fonts is a god send. I don't ruin a book by highlighting lines, but I guess the only thing I don't get is resale value or showing my collection of books, or that book smell rofl. None of those bother me enough to go back to reading "real" books.

Why would I want to go to the distant past?

My dad once spilled coffee all over my books (accident, btw). That alone is enough for me to favor digital formats.

And we have had like 10 gay posters on this very board And bi people, as well That we know of Probably shouldnt just be assuming, anyway

I dont really think that matters that much, tbh And my numbers are higher than 2%. So, Idk where you got that number. And thats only our gay folks. And did you also count bi men? Though, that would alarmingly be the folks that are out. And I can tell you more people are out online than in real life

It shouldn't be hard to understand. If you have a situation where only 2% of the people fall into a specific category, then it's generally safe to assume someone is not one of the 2%.

I don't know where I got it from either, but I recall seeing stats a few times putting it at around 1.8%. What I do remember is the statistic being for the entire LGBT community, which would mean gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and trans folks together represent 1.8% of the US population. That said, I'm pretty sure it's a decade-old stat, so it's likely higher now. I could see the LGBT population being, at crazy highest, 5%.

I think that LGBTQ+ people seriously make up at least 10% of all people and I wouldnt be surprised if its closer to 25%

First of all, where are you getting this 2% number from. Hes bi, AFAIK. And Im 100% sure that more the 2% of men are non-straight (gay, bi, pan, etc), so I dont know where youre getting 2% from. Gay, bi, trans, etc folks make up much more than 2%. Fact! Even you 5% seems low these days. And thats not even counting the people who lie about it Also, youre wrong. You dont just assume. Especially when other factors have pointed to him being male. Like when people use the he/him pronouns
