A big problem I had is that it's a movie that is made for a huge crowd to watch, which is all the marvel stuff but it was super blatant here. Watching at home, I don't think I've ever been more actively aware of a movie having dead air for audience applause than I was for this movie. But they did what they could to make it work I guess, and the novelty of having previous characters return is cool enough on its own to carry the movie. Nothing like that has ever been done before, of course they could have handled it better but the pandemic also really hindered a lot of the process. It was worth it alone to have Willem Dafoe reprise his role and do an even better job than in the original movie. Somehow didn't feel ridiculously patriotic...then again if any franchise has earned their right to that it's this one. Also the cast as a whole was on top form, but Willem Dafoe in particular knocked it out of the park. Honestly there was nothing in the film I thought was particularly amazing, but it was such a fun romp.
