• Males going on quests to save the world and must have a female love interest who is the reward after doing so.

The 13 year olds in nyc absolutely do this.

I guarantee that I can run much faster than the average ten year old while carrying one. This becomes even more true over distance.

You would *never* want to put a foreign substance into your mouth like that. It could just as easily be a bag of anthrax or rat poison. You better believe people would lay boobytraps for cops if that's the way they tested for drugs.

I realize that Tarantino was doing this at least semi-ironically in Django Unchained, but Django shooting Candie's sister and her flying backwards at a 45 to 70 degree angle from where the shot came from still wears the crown of 'bullets send people literally flying' trope.

This one might just be me, but it always irritates me when a character gets home and almost immediately starts handling/preparing food (or helping someone else do it) or eating. Wash your hands first.

Someone running from a car down the center of the road instead of going off road

Someone talking about how much they love their car in an action movie. Its gonna get destroyed. We get it. Its overplayed.

So you must run 4.5 min mile huh? And sub 11 100m dash? Otherwise absolutely no way you are running faster. 10 y.o. could easily do 6 min mile and 13 second 100m. I don't even think Usain bolt could run a 13s 100 while carrying a 10 y.o. child.

People with big apartments in LA or NYC when they work as like a waitress or barista...

a bad documentary is disappointing to me in a way that basically no other movies are.

some things that I hate:
-the documentaries where a substantial amount of the footage is just people talking about how important/wonderful the subject is, without actually saying anything meaningful about it (CNN's tv documentaries stand out as being particularly guilty of this)

-nature documentaries with narration that humanizes their subject too much. often the narration suggests that, because the subject displays some behavior that appears to be similar to something that humans do, their motivation for that behavior must also be similar to humans.

(as a side note, I find two things extremely off-putting about nature documentaries:
-knowing that the sounds you're hearing are completely unrelated to the pictures being shown on the screen
-knowing that the presence of a camera has an effect on the way the animals act)

Some of these I actually like... but this one I agree with:

I absolutely loathe narration and annoying loud music in my nature documentaries. It's missing the whole point, I want to actually see and hear nature: the gazelle running on dried leaves of grass, the cheetah silently stalking, the buzz of crickets, the babbling brook, the splash of a penguin diving for fish and coming back out. I tried watching one doc on netflix and the loud as fuck music was the by far the most obnoxious noise I'd ever heard in my life, it was like a cacophony made to torture my eardrums.

I assume it's done to make the doc more "exciting" but if I wanted "excitement" I'd watch bang boom pointy-and-shooty movies.

Did anyone already mention cocking a shotgun that's already been cocked or something like that? I don't know anything about guns but I know this bothers gun fanatics a lot lol.
