Those mystery thrillers where the protagonist is the one who has to solve the crime and they aren't a cop.

If the cops are corrupt or don't think anything is wrong then whatever.

But lately, more and more, the cops know there is a murder and tell the protagonist to stay out of it. But they do absolutely nothing. Everything relies on the protagonist. Then the protagonist gets an apology from the police at the end. If you think about the movie from the cops perspective it makes no sense at all.

The worst lately was some Netflix movie called The Getaway Weekend or something like that. The woman's friend gets murdered and has to go on her own to find who did it and finds secret camera footage in her hotel and all sorts of things that crack the case. But after all of this the cops reveal they have public footage of the actual murder. Despite having this they couldn't figure out anything on their own. It makes no sense! It also relies on several people behaving in just the right way in order to have the correct order of red herrings.
