I've made a topic about this before but I fucking hate plots that can be resolved in 10 minutes if the characters just fucking talked to each other.

Romance and rom-coms are the worst for this.

I had something else in mind. But I have since forgotten this . Since it is so big. Also having secrets for no reason at all. It was this show call the Dome. The City is some how in cased in an Dome and people start finding clues. And for not reason they are like .. let's keep this to yourselves.

I'm starting to genuinely hate this emerging trend of un-superpowered superheroes (or larger-than-life action heroes) going through a bone-pulverizing fall / crash and just walking it off. Especially when the action is fairly grounded / plausible otherwise.

Captain America and Spiderman can get away with doing this. Black Widow, John Wick, and Batman can NOT get away with doing this.

Doing cartwheels in the middle of a big fight. Is it really effective to do a cartwheel in a fight? I really dont know but cant imagine the advantage.

In The Batman. Was one of the worst. Since his action was suppose to me more grounded . Just like damn.

It doesnt really need to end because its kind of necessary for certain kinds of movies, but it always bothers me when I think of the existence of CCTV, and how it should trivialize mysteries or ruin things like secret identities.

Same for car chases on busy highways without ever hitting traffic jams and fights in the street in big cities but somehow nobodys around (this is a non-sequitur, but this happens A LOT in anime set in Tokyo; one of the most densely populated cities on the planet, but there are never any people around when actions happening).

Again, not things that need to go, but definitely things that ruin immersion if you happen to consider them.

Pitting the heroes against a massive army of enemies only for the enemies to run forward firing wildly and hitting nothing.

Like if you can't choreograph something interesting, just write fewer enemies.

Car chases where everyone is driving in the second highest gear, until they need a burst of speed, then they shift to the highest gear.

"Agghhh hit the NoS!" *car boost*

also female characters getting thrown or kicked across a fucking room several times and then getting right back up to win the fight like it was a light bruising.

Kill Bill and Atomic Blonde seem to be the only
flicks with a female lead that more or less does this successfully along the lines of believability.

Same applies to every modern action movie in general where people get launched into steel surfaces or bulk objects. Like come on, you're just making everyone look as durable as Wolverine except they're not supposed to be >____>

Post credit scenes. Not a fan. It's a pointless waste of time to sit and wait through all the names just to see a 30 second clip. It wouldn't be so bad though if credits now weren't so long to get through and there's also usually nothing going on during the credit sequence (like bloopers) to help distract you.

Some of the best episodes of Three's Company revolved around Mr. Furley doing this.

I hate action movies where the main character catches up to the villain and the villain is overly nice and friendly. Come have dinner in my villain hideout, we're all friends here! And they talk in metaphors so you know the villain is still bad.

James Bond does this a lot, but now every single Marvel show/movie does this trope.

High density areas randomly being void of people for the sake of an action setpiece.
Horrible car chase scenes that just make no fucking sense.
Taking thirty blows to the face and not being bruised.
People having pretty white teeth at times where it makes no sense.

Knocking down your would-be killer and making no attempt to to finish them off as if running away is higher priority. This is not scary. This is fucking annoying.

Or when the movie is set in any non-English speaking country in Europe and they just cast English-speaking people with British accents anyway.

Something that will never go away but annoys the fuck out of me are those one-against-many fight scenes.

I would bet twelve untrained middle school students against prime Mike Tyson. Much less would you have one medium build male or female taking on a dozen people who are supposedly trained to fight.

People don't patiently wait their turn to get knocked out. They pounce on you like a pack of wolves. They get you on your blindside. It's not humanly possible to be surrounded and defend yourself on all sides.

Yep, forgot about that one since it's not part of the recent trend, but it definitely applies. Of course that's not the only instance of the Indy series turning off fall damage; there's the armored car tree + waterfall jump later in that movie, and the infamous raft plane jump in Temple of Doom.

There's also Batman and Rachel landing on the car roof in The Dark Knight. But on the other hand that whole trilogy had bizarre instances of bad editing scattered throughout, so I just chalked it up to that.

Glass in movies pretty much always shatters into a billion tiny shards with the slightest touch

omg this soooooo fucking much it bothers me to no end. I finally have the upper hand on the villain. Now Im going to run into a dead end or upstairs or some dumb shit instead of just killing the fucking guy or at least restraining him in some waoh look at that he just got back up off screen and is right behind me. Who woulda figured

Just the way villains always seem to have ridiculous plot armour and galaxy brains to keep the movie going.

theyll always get away from the first few encounters. Theyll know the protagonists every moveto the point of clairvoyance.

When people visit a foreign country like Mexico or China, and it's a holiday like Day of the Dead or the Chinese New Year. It always seems to happen in action movies.

Clothes and people look perfect no matter their living conditions.
Basically nothing looks lived in.

Oh, I'll add super heroes straight up murdering people but it's ok because they're "bad guys".

A killer is having a fight to the death with the victim. The victim knocks the killer out and casually walks away without finishing the job. Killer later pops up around a corner

Every piece of dialogue requiring to be a quip with a punch line

I'd imagine an adult hopped up on adrenaline holding a child could probably outpace a scared child.
