I very rarely throw up, since I could remember I have only thrown up 4 times in my life, two of which was when I got sick from Wings. it took about 12 years for me to get to the point not to get nauseous looking at them.

I haven't had a food-specific food poisoning, but I can't eat big cuts of meat (like even a small steak) because I get sick when I eat more than a little meat at once.

I got sick one time from a norovirus and stuff was shooting out both ends at the same time. The last thing I ate before I started throwing up was an apple fritter. I know that wasn't what made me sick (the incubation period is 12-48 hours), but to this day I can't even look at an apple fritter without feeling queasy.

yes. i used to really love bloodsauseges until one day i got sick after eating 1 or 2. i was sick for like 6 weeks. avoided them ever since. but they smell so good when frying em

I contracted either beaver fever or E Coli from eating fish I caught from a lake last year that lead to 6 months of abdominal pain and irregular poops, which all 3 doctors I consulted with basically told me I had to wait out. Even after 6 months I still have occasional reoccurring gut pain, and what I would self diagnose as being IBS.

I'll pass on eating fish I've caught next time.

almost. plain tortilla chips. but I can probably still eat them, though I'd prefer them not to be plain.

also pea soup, where I didn't get food poisoning but I did eat enough of it in one sitting that I went from liking it to hating it forever.

Food poisoning or other unpleasant experiences from food can make you avoid the item. The taste of the item can make you sick every time. It's called taste aversion.

Not food poisoning but the last thing I ate before getting violently ill from spinal meningitis as a kid was a banana.
It took decades for me to be able to eat bananas again.

As for me, last time I got food poisoning was from ordering a chourio breakfast sandwich from a place where I'll bet they don't sell a lot of these and the chourio had probably turned

I grew up in an area with a large Portuguese population and love the food. Hadn't had good chourio in a while and when I saw it on the menu I got a craving for it. This was in a town that is pretty far-removed from areas in the state with a larger Portuguese footprint, so I imagine the sausage was probably old. I got violently ill shortly after eating that sandwich.

I'd still eat chourio. Just not from that place

Onion rings. When I was in my twenties, a friend's mother bought me lunch at a Dairy Queen in Minneapolis. Turns out that the onion rings in my meal were either undercooked or a bad batch; I became so ill that I had to go home. Afterwards I couldn't eat or even look at onion rings for years. Only recently have I started to eat onion rings, which I used to love, again.

Every time I've ever had tuna casserole, it's made me very sick later. It's happened on multiple occasions, across different periods of time, made by different people. Even weirder because none of the individual ingredients make me sick.

I had it once, it was hands down the most sick I have ever been in 47 years. We narrowed it down to being from hot chocolate (of all things!) I didn't feel right and went to bed early, woke up in the middle of the night in cold sweats and my stomach felt like a... big rock or something I don't know how else to explain it. Got super nauseous and spent the next 3 or 4 hours or so in the bathoom with it coming out both ends. Remained nauseous until maybe 10-11am and fell asleep on the couch and woke up the next day. It was terrible.

Food poisoning? No. But for other reasons. If its food poisoning, I just chalk it up to bad luck. If it happens with the same food at a different place (but same franchise), I might avoid that food from that franchise. If it happens with the same food from a different place (different franchise), I might think Im allergic or something. If it happens with the same place (same franchise), I might avoid that place. And if it only happens at that one restaurant in the franchise, Id avoid the restaurant. But I probably wouldnt avoid the food. The only foods (other than the ones I dont like) that I avoided were egg rolls and Salisbury steak.

Eggs rolls because I had them one time and threw up. It wasnt food poisoning, because I felt fine. I cant remember what it Was exactly, but I avoid them. Love spring rolls, though

As for Salisbury steak, my stepdad found out I loved them, and kept feeding them to me every night for like a couple weeks I started getting tired of it and ate less and less every night Eventually, I couldnt even take a bite anymore Heavens had it since

I threw up sugarcrisp cereal after a morning track meet in highschool. I haven't been able to eat it again.

As far as food poisoning goes, I've only ever really experienced it once and I don't even remember what caused it.

As a teenager and young adult I couldn't stand tomatoes. I could eat them if they were cooked and fully incorporated into the product (salsa, pasta sauce, ketchup, etc), but raw tomatoes like on a burger or tacos, forget it!

But my grandparents used to say that I loved tomatoes as a kid and ate them all the time. Something must have happened to turn me off so badly.

I've gotten better about it. I'll eat raw tomatoes in or on stuff, but by itself, I still won't touch it. I'll ask for a burger with a slice of tomato on it and happily eat it, but if a piece of the tomato falls off the burger and I can't stick it back in for whatever reason, it's going in the trash. Onion falls out, I'll eat it. Pickle, nom. Cheese paper, hell yeah. Bit of tomato? GARBAGE.

Worst I ever got was from a BBQ place near where I worked at the time. I got a $50 gift card from there as compensation, and I used it about 2 weeks later. Never got sick from there again.
