Wanted to, but won't have the money nor the time to actually go through with it.

Next year definitely yes, though. Planning Disney's Magic Kingdom, Disney's Animal Kingdom, Sea World and maaaaybe Islands of Adventures.

Already visited two theme parks multiple times.

The fact most of the country is plagued with seasonal amusement parks is weird and confusing.

Probably not. I live 20 mins away from Universal and about 30 mins from Disney but they have zero appeal to me. I think I've been to Disney twice and Universal like 3 times in the last 10 years and it was always when someone is visiting.

There's a slim chance I go to Halloween horror nights with the wife but she usually goes with friends and it does nothing for me.

I actually drive by universal every morning. And when I go to the pub with a friend it's basically across the road from universal.

no, but that's not unusual for me. Six flags is only like 40 minutes away from me but I only go like once every 3 years or so

Pre-covid, I was visiting Disneyland once or twice a year and loving it, but apparently Fastpass isn't even offered there atm, so fuck that noise.

No other parks are on my radar.

Because there are 4 big ones within an hour of me, 5(?) within 2. They are open year round.

Seasonality is for water parks.

but where do you live

like Im in Chicago and we have a Six Flags pretty near by thats only open ~5 months a year or something because no one wants to ride a roller coaster when its freezing and snow would probably mess things up too, so it makes sense to just not be open

I'm sure it makes sense. I live near Los Angeles. I'd never actually thought about it and then sometime in the last 6 months I learned that other regions of the country have to deal with seasonal theme park operating days.

The only other place I'd ever been to visit a theme park is Florida and they are open year round. They even have water parks open year round.

Was also just there, and had the same experience with Genie+. It was basically only useful early in the morning.

People used to be able to plan their park days around fp availability.

Now you have 90% usage of genie+ and LL because the alternative is losing 75-95% of your time waiting in line.

We have it bad here at DL but WDW is a nightmare scenario where no one can befriend the monster because it ate everyone at the start of the day.

As long as it's available and at least similar to the MaxPass of a few years ago. Utilizing the system as efficiently as possible made me feel like I was "breaking" Disneyland and honestly became one of my favorite experiences in the park, as weird as that may sound.

It is similar except a couple e-tickets are outside the pool and instead have individual costs per person to skip the line.

I dont recommend paying this fee and would instead recommend riding these at open/close.

Also genie+ is similar in usage but the allocation of available ride times is not. To give a perception of increased value there are significantly more passes in the pool.

This means substantially increased standby waits to go along with longer fast lane waits.

Oh and i actually discoveres seasonal operations for amusement parks late last year when I was spotting out locations to potentially go see the eclipse in a couple years. Was looking at spots thinking maybe I'd double dip and find somewhere with some cool coasters to spend a day.

Then I had my hopes and dreams crushed by learning of seasonal operations. Eclipse is April 8th, 2024.
