Decided to get a little construction game on Switch called Demolish & Build, since it was on sale and my gold points lowered the price even further. I was able to get it for under $2. I wouldn't really recommend it, at least on Switch. The graphics and draw distance are on par with a mobile game, some vehicles with multiple moving parts have the physics go nuts and launch you into the sky, one job consistently crashes the game, and the construction crane in the final area always falls through the floor when you use it. It never had any patches released, and it shows. The game is enjoyable when it's not shitting itself, so the PS4/XB1 versions might be worth getting. They were released two years after the Switch version, so hopefully they had more polish. In one of the Naked Gun movies, there's a scene where there's a shootout and the main character's partner starts putting attachments on his pistol. As the main character and bad guy are busy shooting at each other, the partner is adding more and more attachments until it's finally a full-on mounted cannon that blasts a huge hole in a wall. I wonder if there's a game where you can continually upgrade a single weapon in a similar way. There's plenty where there's some secret way of turning a weak gun into something decent, but I don't know of any where your pea shooter can become an apocalypse cannon. Doom 64 has the Unmaker, which can be upgraded multiple times, but the Unmaker is already decent in its base form. Also, Leon's dialogue at the end is more serious and somber, in contrast with his original wisecracking personality. I hope that doesn't stick. Overly-serious characters was one of the reasons RE6 failed. 7 and 8 had lively characters and moments of levity, and they were very widely loved.
