In one of the Naked Gun movies, there's a scene where there's a shootout and the main character's partner starts putting attachments on his pistol. As the main character and bad guy are busy shooting at each other, the partner is adding more and more attachments until it's finally a full-on mounted cannon that blasts a huge hole in a wall.

I wonder if there's a game where you can continually upgrade a single weapon in a similar way. There's plenty where there's some secret way of turning a weak gun into something decent, but I don't know of any where your pea shooter can become an apocalypse cannon. Doom 64 has the Unmaker, which can be upgraded multiple times, but the Unmaker is already decent in its base form. Far Cry: New Dawn lets you upgrade any weapon's damage an unlimited number of times, but that's by spending resources, not adding stuff to the gun.
