I've heard basically nothing good about the Halo show. I've never played it (much like the showrunners), but I know what it's like to have a poor adaptation of something you love. Seriously, removing his helmet in the first episode? That should only be done with lots of build-up and gravitas, especially since he's never been seen without it since his debut, aside from a couple small glimpses.

Some day, directors will learn that pleasing fans leads to big money. The Sonic movie and Top Gun: Maverick are fine examples of that.

Turns out maxing a Diablo Immortal character is more costly than previously thought. If you fully upgrade a 5/5-star gem, that actually unlocks sub-slots for that gem which you can attach more gems to. So that means that maxing a character costs more along the lines of $550k+. If you wanna max out all six character types, that makes for $3.3 million. And that's assuming you had good luck with drops. Again, I genuinely doubt any game can top this one in sheer, unrelenting greed. They freaking made special sub-slots that only appear if you're a huge spender!

My bro's cat has been particularly demanding to be let outside multiple times a day lately, even in 90-degree heat. She mostly cleans herself and takes hour-long naps. Wish I could ignore her, but with her fur loss and advanced age, I can't bring myself to.

Yeah well, most single-player games aren't monetized to hell and back, and are generally more well-built and enjoyable to play. Most of their MP games in the past few years have flopped. If I was with a 10/10 girl who only played SP games, I'd propose on the spot.

Oh, and they're also working on a sequel to Fallen Order and a remake of Dead Space, both highly-beloved single player games.

Someone has been letting off fireworks behind the shopping center across the street from me. There's some real high-end stuff in there, including ones I don't remember ever seeing before. It was nice to see, since I haven't been to an actual fireworks show in years.

Found out about this game called Fashion Police Squad. It's a retro-style FPS where instead of killing things, you use various tailoring guns to fix up crimes of fashion. Since different enemies are committing different fashion crimes, you need to use different guns on them, like the dye gun on guys with bland suits or the belt whip on guys with saggy pants. And there's sections where you temporarily get a magic pimp hand and you run around at fast speeds pimp-slapping a bunch of people into fabulousness. It's one of the most creative twists on a classic genre I've ever seen.

Depending on who you ask, it could be. We tend to be stereotyped as creeps who like little girls, and with that being the expected target audience of MLP, it's not unexpected for people to jump to that conclusion. Thankfully for me, I loathe kids and love big funbags.

Been thinking up an idea for a fictional product. It's for people who have snake bodies below the waist. So I figure that any snake people who live in a big city slither over concrete a lot, which might be chafing their underbellies. The product would basically be a sleeve they could slip their snake halves into that protects them from concrete damage. I've been wondering what it might look like, if it would constrict movement too much, how you could adjust the width, the number of length sizes and how you would make it durable enough to survive extensive concrete scraping, but comfortable enough to wear.

Also thought of a couple variations. One that's heavy-duty for military use, and one that's made for kids, who would have more sensitive scales.

Great, our freezer is making an annoying buzzing noise again. At first, I thought our ice maker somehow turned itself on, despite the switch being in the off position, but it actually seems to be coming from the fan. My brother suspects there's ice build-up on it, and that we'll have to unplug the fridge, take the cover off the fan, and melt the ice with a hair dryer.

Good, my brother got the stupid freezer fixed. Subtle droning noises like that that can't easily be turned off always make me anxious. Probably a symptom of my little brain condition.

Anyway, I started playing New Super Lucky's Tale. I bought it a couple years ago with some of my stimulus after playing the demo, but the absolute crapfest that the last couple years were made me hesitant to jump into something unfamiliar. Now that things have finally calmed down some, I feel comfortable enough to give it a go.

It's really good! It's a kid-friendly 3d platformer that's got enough challenge to appeal to adults. There's plenty enough good level design, art direction, and varied mission design to keep things from getting stale. There's these side puzzles where you have to make an object land on a certain tile, and hitting an object makes it continually slide until it hits a wall or the side of an occupied tile. They get really damn annoying in the tropical island world, to the point I wondered if they forgot that this is supposed to be kid-friendly.

I really liked the desert world, which is occupied by these ex-wrestler yetis who decided to go down a path of peace, but they still speak about it like wrestlers getting hyped up for a match.

Had a dream last night that I tried to play a bunch of my PS3 games, but couldn't because their servers had been shut off due to their age. It was depressingly realistic. If there's one thing Sony is bad at, it's game preservation. One needs only look at their once-planned shutdown of the PS3 and Vita stores and the inability to guy anything from them with credit cards anymore (you can only use PS money card codes now). One of their higher-ups saw a bunch of older games set up at some convention and couldn't fathom why people would wanna play these ugly old games. So what if they're showing their age, they were made with heart, passion, and creativity.

This is why the next console I'd want would one of the Xbox Series. Microsoft has a whole heap of backwards-compatible games because they actually care about preservation. Hopefully this whole scarcity and inflation thing ends so I can actually get one.

Oh, and Nintendo is bad at preservation as well. They've got this dragon's hoard of old games people would love to play, but they release them at the barest trickle and strike down ROM sites. If they'd just make official (word that starts with E that I don't think I can say here), and make the most popular games available, people would love that.

Sure, I could download a you-know-what to my phone and play any retro game I want there, but I want them on the big screen with an actual controller in my hands. Not to mention not having to worry about constant battery drain.
