Someone brought this extremely spicy salsa, but I didn't know that, so I damn near caused a scene when I took a bite. I could feel myself hiccuping and desperately looked over the food for something to smother the heat before I puked. I settled on some coleslaw. After my mouth regained feeling, I wondered who the hell brought something that fucking spicy to a family gathering. On the way back, we passed a house that had four police SUVs parked outside. I could see an officer talking to a young couple outside and the house door was open. It's going to take place in 1920s Louisiana and have two playable characters with their own storylines that sometimes intercept. Compare that the the last two games: Inferno (a bombastic action horror drama in present day New York where demonic forces are literally tearing apart the city) and Illumination (a poorly-balanced co-op shooter where enemies are weak to light, so you are neither alone or in the dark). Definitely something about the sheer contrast between a goofy main character and these desolate, eerily quiet planets. The game is impossible to play currently, due to the death of Flash, but the developers are bringing it to Steam in a couple months, so you can wishlist it. They're also working on a sequel. Early versions of the game had these puzzles you had to do to disarm the bombs, and they were an absolute pain. I'm talking 60+ clicks of a button sequence, minimum. Newer versions removed the puzzles, making it so that interacting with the bombs instantly disarmed them, so the much simpler number sequence on Earth's bomb was the only puzzle left. Despite being told that the bomb will detonate in four hours, letting the timer run out reveals that it's infected with the Y3k bug, so it resets back to four hours, meaning you have all the time in the world. Ezone already had an impressive selection of games even back then, and I'm impressed that the same two guys have managed to stay busy all these years.
