In going bigger I also think it goes a little dumber. We couldn't house criminals in an asylum - how's about a whole city instead? What could possibly go wrong? As usual, the best parts of the game are Batman & Joker. It's interesting to see Joker in a weaker position than usual, and the twist with Clayface honestly did get me. The big problem with the game is its pacing - you sort of just feel like you're bouncing around from busy thing to busy thing rather than the clear concise goals of Asylum (or at least that game did a better job of hiding things). The game's biggest strength will always be its commitment to Batman lore and these remain some of the most top tier portrayals of the Rogues Gallery to date.

I guess that's a good point. Rating stories people love/hate is more interesting than stories people don't care about.

Loved it. Though not as impressive as Asylum's story, City at least nailed the one area where Asylum fell short IMO (the ending)

Hard disagree. I still look forward to these topics every night.

I mean the series is cool but we're pulling in so few votes that we're lucky if a game gets double digit votes now

There are still stories that are notable left to do, however I think interest has declined regardless. I was planning on wrapping it up but I think we have a few months left before we reach that point.

First some old votes:

Batman: Arkham Asylum - 6 (a fine Batman story).

Silent Hill - 4.5 (some good ideas but underbaked).

Then, I would say a 6.5 for Arkham City, its more ambitious and interesting than the first one.

It's ridiculous and very fun, this game knows that the villains are the most interesting part of the Batman franchise and happily throws dozens of them at you. Strange was a bit of a letdown but Clayface makes up for it, the ending was strong (haven't played Knight so idk if it retcons the ending or not).

What I will say just to clarify from earlier though is that there are still interesting games to do, even the more middling ones. Arkham Asylum got a lot more engagement than Arkham City is getting, so I think its more a general decline as its been a while. That is unfortunate but I no will keep going until we run out of worthwhile stuff.
