I mean, I still haven't played it, and part of me wants to try it, once there's a good deal on Steam. I . . . might consider doing so with lewd mods.

This, the Skyrim cycle is thus.

Step 1.Spend 5+ hours downloading mods,
Step 2.Load game, game crashes and/or has missing textures or bugged mod features.
Step 3.Troubleshoot which of the 50+ mods you have installed is causing the issue
Step 4.While you're at it, download several dozen more mods.

Then back to step 1.

Of my 15 hrs. of the non-legendary edition playtime, all of it is spent getting well over 100 mods to work and then not playing the game.

Welp, I escaped the dragon attack, wondered off the trail north, got shot at and jumped by bandits, now I've accepted a quest from complete strangers to find a golden claw even before I had a chance to look for my next lead

What's the deal with the books? They're full on stories ._.

I just collect a copy of every book and tell myself I'll read them eventually but never do

The books aren't as interesting as the Fallout logs for the vaults.

you can get levels for reading books for the first time, so read any books worth like 50+ gold

Have you never played an Elder Scrolls game before? The books are incredible. TES3 Morrowind is all about a religious prophecy and pilgrimage, and the writer, Michael Kirkbride did a whole bunch of acid and wrote all the religious texts of the dark elves, and it's a fucking wild ride. Also, The Lusty Argonian Maid is a classic of literature.

Morrowind was my first ES game and I loved it. That and Halo CE was the reason I bought an Xbox way back when.
The magic making ability was bonkers broken too allowing you to stomp on everything.
I'm currently playing Skyrim on my Switch too. 105+ hours in and still playing. Having a hell of a time getting the Oghma Infinium glitch to work tho. Can't seem to trigger it the third time, just not as fast as I used to be I guess.

Nah bro you gotta look up what books give levels and avoid them at all costs until you're far into the game and then the skill raises are worth more! /s (but only kind of)

Nope, first ES game

I'm already lost with what's happening in the game.. theres an empire taking over but now everyone has to work together because a dragon showed up..

Books sound like a riot, I just wanna get on with the game

nords are trying to fight for independence, imperials controlled skyrim for an extremely long time (because the empire is basically rome and just conquers everything) but they don't exactly appreciate nord culture

Yeah the entirety of Tamriel, including the country of Skyrim, was under the rule of one emperor, Tiber Septim, but he dies during the events of Elder Scrolls 4 Oblivion. TES5 Skyrim is 200 years after Oblivion, and new political factions have popped up in that time and are trying to enact their will over the continent, and it's coming to a head in Skyrim.

Skyrim is basically unplayable without project flintlock.

fallout4 is unplayable without fuck says the dog.

This is explained in Skyrim, but when people talk about the god Talos, and Tiber Septim, they're talking about the same person. When Tiber died he ascended and became a Divine. He's the only mortal non-elf to ever canonically achieve godhood iirc, and the Thalmor, being elven supremacists hate that and ban worship of him.

Also divinity and time in Elder Scrolls are all wibbly wobbly timey wimey nonsense. People and even objects have temporarily became gods, and this fucks with time in all sorts of interesting fun ways, becuase in TES, if you were once a god, you were always a god, so if you somehow manage to achieve divinity, all of time literally rewrites itself to make it so you were always a god.

They're the worst glitches later when an important quest NPC spawns 30 feet in the air and falls to their death without you even noticing.

Markarth seems pretty bad for that sort of thing, from what I've seen. Especially on the PS4 version with the forced Anniversary edition update.

That doesn't actually disprove what I said - in fact, it supports it.

Because I didn't say anything about the Towers. I said they want to destroy the universe. Because they do. The whole point of undoing Talos worship is to "unbind the mortal plane". Something that post openly acknowledges multiple times.

Essentially, the Thalmor want to undo the physical world as created by Lorkhan so that Mundus will end and the elves can become spiritual beings again. And they view Talos (the God of Men) as an impediment to that goal. So they banned his worship to weaken him.
