I was waiting for an incentive to get the booster, but then I caught it (very mild, so it was probably Omicron) so it was pointless after that

2. It'd be 3, but a bunch of things happened, disrupting my plan to get the booster and relax at home for a couple days. Thanks, work.

The booster supposedly still improves resistance to future potential variant infections than just acquired immunity from catching Covid in some form. So it wouldn't be entirely pointless regardless.

I know a friend of mine who had Covid early on when it was still virulent and almost killed him has gone out of his way to get the vaccine and booster.

The first 2, and then the booster, so 3. It's a requirement to be vaccinated at my workplace, though I would have gotten it anyway.

First and second doses. I was planning on a booster after 6 months but then I caught Covid right about that time.

Im still contemplating getting a booster.

Considering the question was how many shots youd received, not doses, unless they somehow pulled the needle out halfway through and didnt complete the injection, your attempt at semantics is an entirely failed one.

two which is probably good enough for me unless a third ends up being required somehow

The terms are mostly interchangeable. If I got a double dose in a single needle (for whatever reason), I'd count that as two.

If it makes you feel any better, my girlfriend was out of commission for nearly a week after #2, but had nothing but a sore arm from her booster. On the flip side, there's no shortage of stories of people having little to no reaction from #2 being hit hard by #3, but the takeaway is that your shot 2 experience doesn't indicate much of anything about how your booster will go.
