The new ninja track is actually REALLY cool. So many different pathways, many of them vertical, including some really cool hidden ones!

As a bonus, you don't really need to buy the DLC to play the new tracks. If they come up online you can play them, and if you're in a room with someone who owns the pass everyone can pick them.

Sounds like free DLC to me!

Seems like a good excuse to bring back Board 8 Mario Kart games.

Sick. I heard something like that but bought it anyway.

Been playing 30 minutes online and I haven't seen any new tracks yet though! Guess I'll go play the cups offline. I know there's only 8 new tracks currently but there really should be a DLC only option online

So I've never played Tour, but the way the Paris course makes you race in the opposite direction in the final lap is terrifying, especially when there's Bullet Bills and Star players heading directly towards you.

Oh, it's from Tour? It didn't show the game origin next to the course name when I played it. I thought it was like the one original track.

Well, I never played Tour so it's all new to me!

Yeah there's 3 courses from Tour in this batch:

• Coconut Mall (Mario Kart Wii)
• Tokyo Blur (Mario Kart Tour)
• Shroom Ridge (Mario Kart DS)
• Sky Garden (Mario Kart Super Circuit)
• Ninja Hideaway (Mario Kart Tour)

Yeah, I knew the other ones were from Tour, but weirdly enough the Ninja course doesn't list the game origin. It's the only course in the DLC pack that doesn't. I wonder why?

Isn't this because you need nintendo switch online to play online and that comes with the dlc?

The dlc is exclusive to the expansion pass add on for Switch online, so the gap exists.

I ended up playing for over an hour last night and the new courses never showed up once online smh

And I purchased this! Can't they update the level generating algorithm so they show up more frequently. Currently feeling like I wasted my money

I'm expecting them to show up more often as more tracks get released. It's the odds.

No. He's just saying you have to have the Expansion Pass. He's saying it doesn't come with normal Switch Online, which confirms you don't need to own the DLC/Pass to play the courses online, since people who only have Switch Online have seen the courses in online play.

No. It's included in the expansion pass. But if you stop your expansion pass sub, you have to buy separately.

Okay that makes more sense. I may as well get the expansion pass, then.

Keep in mind the Mario Kart DLC is being planned through the end of 2023. So that is 2 years of paying extra for the expansion pass (an extra $60 total) and you'd still need to pay more if you ever wanted play beyond those 2 years, whereas the DLC itself is a one time fee of $25, and you get it forever.

I've been watching streamers on Twitch and they've been getting the new courses fairly often.

I wonder if you have to own the DLC to choose the DLC, and thus for the average rotation, there's still a majority that don't own it and thus can't choose it. It'd make sense, since on average people playing with streamers probably already own the DLC, thus increasing the chances it ends up in the rotation.

Maybe when everyone heard you can get the DLC in randoms that encouraged more people to start hopping online to play the new courses without getting them yet, leading to a lot of people online without them.

Saw some of the dlc courses streamed. Holy crap, they made Yoshi Valley actually good.

Just curious, what CCs does everyone play on? I've never done 200 cc, so if I start streaming with B8ers I don't want to completely embarrass myself.

150cc. Pretty much every course feels designed with that speed in mind. 200cc is absurd.

I do love my 200cc but I'm rather used to doing 150s for others

I really find 200s exhilarating though, just gotta keep your finger on that brake... okay ninja castle is pushing it with those sharp, closed-quarters turns

lmfao I love this. I was actually surprised at how well I could handle Shroom Ridge 200cc, I expected hell what with all the cars and turns but it was great getting purple drifts and everything.

That would be a shame if true. Maybe you need to select "Random" each time?

It took me a hot minute to try and figure out what racer, kart, and tire I used to use.

Although the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe Booster Course Pass DLC will be released on March 18th. The new tracks will not be available in worldwide and regional online rooms until March 22.

200cc.

I don't see a point in the other modes. They are way too easy. It's nice to actually use more than 1 button (using the brake in addition to the gas. You never use the brake in any other cc other than 200cc).

I'm assuming we're only getting tracks that are also in the mobile game. I played these today, and I had a good time! Mario Kart is still fun, shocking! I mostly agree with MSG's assessment, but I tweaked them a bit.
