Anything goes.

XYZ Archetype Rarity Lock (XARL):
Select an archetype from the list (post #2) to build around (XYZ Era + Synchro Era & before)
Only Rare/Normal cards allowed* (any release date)
*Monster Reborn, Raigeki, Solemn Judgment are the only non-R/N cards allowed.
Extra Deck is allowed.

If interested, state which tournament you are signing up for (can play in both). Post your Master Duel code if you have not already done so in the Master Duel topic (You will need to follow everyone in order to duel them).

I'm very interested in playing in the XARL one, but I'll skip Modern this time.

Allowing some of these archetypes under rarity lock is a cruel joke lmao.

Anyways, I'll tentatively play Modern and get bricked 4x to wash out again. I may wind up dropping on Thursday or something though depending on my availability. I don't actually know what it is yet, but I should be available at least in the afternoon at minimum. I kind of want to play the ZW Eldlich I'm building instead of Monarch but I doubt it'll be ready in time.

I might play XARL, if I can find good ways to retool my classic Monarch deck to be more resilient against backrow control or I just decide I have time for it.

I already basically knew what I wanted to play for XARL, but having actually built it, it's even better than I imagined. The shell of the deck is actually not even bad, rarity lock or not. Buzzsaw Shark is a messed up card.

yeah ideally i would have been able to look into most archetypes to see if they were even playable but maaaan there's so many

Yeah, should be.

I can probably do some XARL testing tomorrow. Not feeling it today though because I spent a good bit of time grinding out the Lightsworn and SP solo content and am feeling pretty done for the day.

On that note, I'm on 1630 gems after finishing those out. If I pull 155/day going forward (And I am set up to do this) that'll put me on about 2500. Not likely to be enough to finish ZW without some extreme luck on 2x10 pulls of the Eldlich pack since of the 8 different URs I want for the deck, I can only pull two from the pack (Golden Lord and his fusion variant). Each one I would manage to pull if I did that would just be 3 less cards I'd need to dust (Currently would need to dust 18, and I don't think I'll actually be able to do that without dusting cards I'm either actively using (e.g Ehther/Erebus, Maxx C) or that I know are good (I pulled Virtual World Shenshen, Draco Berserker Tenyi, Numeron Network and Sky Strikers Engage while pulling the ZW pack, and the only of those cards that I'm not confident about their respective decks being good is Tenyi...)

On the bright side, I pulled out some hella nostalgic cards from the legacy packs I got from the SP solo content. Needle Wall and Ominious Fortunetelling were awesome cards when I was a 10 year old, and I pulled Morphing Jar too.

Draco isn't presently good, I think, but if they ever get around to adding Swordsouls it's in there.

Dust what you don't feel like playing though. Do you really see yourself playing some of those, whether they're good or not?

yeah i'll echo this. there's like 20 more archetypes i'd rather play than a meta one i currently have a UR for. and if i somehow find myself wanting to play that in the future, i'll just craft the card then.

Maaaaaaaaybe. Probably not, but I could see myself building Numerons or Sky Striker at some point. Less likely VW or Tenyi.

The bigger problem is that my list of dismantable URs is rather small to begin with.

The primary ones I'm iffy on and didn't mention before are The Weather Painter (Doesn't The Weather have some support that's not yet in Master Duel?), Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon (Seems rather fun and splashable), Galaxy Eyes Solflare, Battle Shogun of Six Samurai and Melody of Awakening Dragon (I'd actually like to build at least Blue Eyes and Six Sam if I had infinite resources...). Throwing all of those in + Engage + VW Shenshen only gets me to 10 cards, which still leaves me like 100 UR essence short of my ideal decklist.

I would consider dusting my Trade-Ins if they weren't currently core to my Exodia deck. That deck is really the root of all of my problems here, with its 10 URs (Playsets of Trade In, Upstart Goblin and Chicken Game + 1x Terraforming), though Upstart and Terraforming are rather splashable.

I am, and am back on Master Duel.

i would actually keep any generic stuff like Trade In (which i would actually like for my Darklord deck) and only dust archetype specific because it's more certain that i wouldn't play those whereas i don't know which engines would be better with things like Upstart/Trade-In

How would sunday be for everyone else? Both this week and going forward.

I'm also asking because my work schedule might change and I probably wont have Saturdays free after this week.

Sundays are basically always better than Saturdays for me, and I'd be 100% in for Sunday this week too.

Hm, well I won't be off until after 7 cst on Sunday, so that may be too late.

Honestly it looks to me like you should leave this one on Saturday, because you'd basically be choosing between me and Abacus or Mike and Waluigi. And Mike wasn't able to play last time because of an emergency so I'd prioritize him over me.

Kinda sucks for Abacus though.

I agree, since it's Waluigi's first time, since Mike had a lot of issues last week, and Tangy is a guarantee on Saturday.

No worries from me, can always sign up next time.

i'm leaning round robin at the moment

also, since it looks like this week won't take as long(?) would anybody be down to test randomizer with me (on dueling book) if we have time sat or sun? i got a process in mind.

i've thought about pros/cons and would like to try round robin this time.

Rules (Modern & XARL)
- 2/3 match, round robin
- Winner will be determined by Match Record. In the event of a tie, the top two will play one final set to determine winner.
- You may not make any changes to your deck once the tournament begins.
- Loser of Game 1 picks whether to go first or second. Whoever wins coin toss in-game for Game 2 picks according to what Loser of Game 1 decides.
- Report outcome of match in the topic
- Coordinate a time with your opponent to play your match. You will be given a match loss if you do not respond within 90 minutes of your matchup being posted.
- In the event of a disconnect, the disconnecting player will be given the game loss.*

Sounds fine to me.

If Tangy or Scep are around and want to do sets, i'll be free for like two hours after 20 min or so. then for rest of the day after like 3:30 pacific
