Same, I think I can wake up 3 hours early before work tho and get some in. I have been abstaining from viewing any gameplay or trailer footage. Feeling pleased as punch at the moment. Think I'll go watch some Bloodbourne lore videos in the garage for a bit.

Never played a Souls game. Is the Prisoner class decent for beginners? I wanted a mix of magic and melee and it seems like that was the best option.

Edit: I now realize how silly it is to ask this question when the game has been out for like six hours lol. Not used to playing games first day.

For magic and melee, itd be down to Prisoner vs Astrologer. Prisoner starts with Estoc which is a fantastic weapon for beginners, while Astrologer would have stronger magic in the early game. Their stats are really similar so it comes down to whether you want to start with better spells (Astrologer) or rely on melee to protect yourself until you get the ball rolling on your magic abilities (Prisoner).

I just had 4 beams of light go off near me and then I immediately disconnected...that was hilarious, but a bit annoying

I've never played a Souls game before but is full caster a reasonable option, at least for a beginner. It feels like I burn through my FP super fast.

in previous games yes, but i'm not even past the first story boss yet in ER so i can't say for this game. so far, magic has made mobs trivial but isn't OP at all against bosses.

have you tried reallocating your flasks so you have more cyan flasks? or try pumping your "MIND" stat (p sure that increases FP).

Honestly I really only got up to the first boss. I haven't had much time to play yet. But during that time I was already burning through my magic and needed to use a sword.

That's good to know. I basically know nothing about the mechanics. Like I used some item, I don't know what within 2 seconds of starting as I was trying to figure out the controls and it was gone forever.

I haven't played much, and I went with the one starting class that had the most dex, but I almost went with Prisoner just because it's heavily inspired by Griffith from Berserk.

I went knight or something with two swords. Ended up going immediately to the beach into a cave. Ended up in a double boss fight. Killed them. Then went towards the light. Got my ass whooped by what I assume is the first boss in the game for like an hour. Apparently you should be level 25 with some upgrades by the lol. I was level 8

conquered the tree sentinel with the lvl 7 hero class without knowing how to two hand my wep

Not sure what class to pick. Was thinking prisoner

im just cheesing most enemies with magic. feel a bit guilty but fuck it. i do feel some guilt so i melee enemies sometimes for a bit of practice but only if near a grace. much more difficult tho. i get anxiety having to use melee tbh. i know it just a game but i can't help it lol.

Just plan to use melee the majority of the time to start out. You wont have enough FP to spam the starting spell.

Seems like a nice foundation though so far.

I hear coop in ER is done much done easier vs the old games. How much can you coop in ER? Like can we coop for every single thing?

Just did the Summonwater boat boss thing. Probably the easiest boss in a Souls game. Fighting on horse takes some getting used to tho.

Looked it up earlier, real deal spoilers.
It's a tall red haired dude named Radagon who fires gold lasers at you for the first phase. Then for the second phase a big dumb gold lava lamp plesiosaur lookin thing with a miniature sword named Elden Beast shows up and goes "Yes you beat him but you haven't beaten ME"
Could have multiple endings, I don't know.

Yeah I was surprised on just how hard that dude was hitting, lol. Took me like 15 minutes or so to beat him. If there is one thing I like about playing on the PS5 version is that the loading is pretty fast to get back to the fight right away from those repeated ass-kickings.

Yeah, it would have been frustrating if the load times had been long. I spent a few tries just learning his attack patterns or at least trying to. I would also let my character die if the battle had a bad start.

margit is a weird choice for how early you can find him because he doesnt feel like an early or even mid game DS boss. his moveset is incredibly reactive to yours and really complex and varied compared to even a lot of bloodborne bosses, and the way he fights you really makes it feel like they want you to learn to fight him a particular way

Speaking of ass-kickings, I finally beat that goddamn tree sentinel dude that be strutting up and down the highway on his horse like he somebody. He also took me like 20 minutes.....these sobs hit hard. Only way I managed to beat him was to fight him on the horse, de-summon the horse when his health got low, and finally re-summon the horse as fast as possible.

Those two hit goodnight combos where your character gets crazy stunned from the first hit is pissing me off, lol.

Ive been stuck on Margit for a while. If Xbox online was actually working Id try to summon im getting rocked so bad. Just gonna leave and come back. Level 17 is too early for him. Gonna come back at 25 or so.
