And in online dating the ratio of men vastly outnumber men. Girls were selective as is, but since guys basically swipe at every decent looking girl, girls get 50-100 matches without much effort, and it's raised their standards even more. Before the internet, social media and online dating apps (and covid) it was so much easier to meet women. It pretty much forced you to go outside and talk to women and it was the only option of dating them. And talking to women in person is so much easier. Now you have an infinite amount of entertainment with the internet and social media you have millions of socially awkward young adults who are shut INS and would rather play videogames or be on social media in most of their time. Our generations are having sex less than ever, and you got herbivores and hikomori being a legit concern. If you are an introvert, especially a dude, you have to put yourself out there. Go out and meet people. And if you are gonna try online dating to widen your net, you need to be interesting over the other dudes. --- Less is more. However, I have only really been in the dating game the last 5 years (after 20 years with my ex wife), and I haven't found it particularly hard. So maybe it is harder, but I think with the right mindest, expectations and learning the right communication skills, it isn't as impossible as some here make out. But it does take work for some guys to develop that mindset and skills, and it would be worse for major introverts. There are lots of tactics that help for dating apps.
