It basically does nothing beyond hyper-focus the worlds ills and problems onto one specific group of people (an ethnic group no less) then treats anyone who even tries to distance themselves from it like they're approving of the issue or at least that they should be punished for 'getting benefits'; usually while ignoring their OWN history as well. Are you an Irish person whose family lived in squalor under English landlords who caused multiple members of your family to starve to death during the famine and fled to America out of desperation to simply not starve? You're just as guilty as the wealthy descendent of a southern land owner. Polish descendent whose family barely survived both the Nazi's and Soviets and came to America desperately hoping for a lick of freedom? Guilty. That your family had no involvement at all in the act and even suffered from famine and persecution is irrelevant simply because your ethnicity matches.

How'd that work out for Dems in Virginia?
Republicans have a way better messaging / branding / marketing game than Democrats do, that more than off-sets how poor their positions are. It's been proven repeatedly, yet the left still lives in denial about it. Dems need to start taking the opposition more seriously as a threat and voting in droves every election like their lives depend on it. I honestly can't stand the arrogance seen in posts like this, it's what keeps lulling Dems into a sense of complacency, then on election day, they're all like, "wait....that CRT fear mongering actually DID work?!" (or whatever the current right wing rallying cry may be)

Republicans still control most states.
Republican nominees still DOMINATE the court benches.
Dems need to win the nationwide popular vote margin by roughly 5% just to TIE Republicans for Congressional seats and electoral college.
And even with total control of Congress and the presidency, Dems are basically helpless.

But yeah, Dems totally have this in the bag and the Republicans are just a bunch of morons that will be laughed off by the voters. No need to worry!

Way to strawman, there. The GOP (correctly) being seen as racist snowflakes isn't mutually exclusive to their ability to reliably vote in non-national elections. This isn't new. Literally any pet social issue can be used, because Republican voters are easily baited and not very bright. That has zero relevance to anything being discussed here.

Ditto it being known that the GOP has successfully gerrymanded itself into relevancy, despite being the least popular party for 30+ years now. Which is why they are deathly afraid of HR1. That + the massive dying off of Republicans due to Covid would transform them into the minority party they've always been overnight. Stuff like HR1 IS the Dems doing something about the GOP threat.

i would say that a minority amount of people do know this, but the majority, like with republicans, are the average every day status quo person. the upper lower/bottom middle class person, a family we would consider a generic family.

i'd say adults now, and teenagers, in the <40 range understand all of this, but they're far outweighed by everyone else that just want to keep everything the same

it's reflected in congress too. you don't see any of the old people really doing much of anything except try to keep things the same as they've always been. it's the younger crowd in there that keeps screeching at everyone

the exception is bernie, but he's classified different anyways
