Them teasing Tobey's death with him being literally stabbed through the back by Goblin, laying on the floor almost barely lifeless as the conflict resolutes, and then getting up like "LOL yeah nope, i've been stabbed worse. I'm fine!" That was so cheap.

How does this Tobey tie in to the Tobey maguire movies? When did he get teleported and why are the villains alive again?

Id guess the only reason they did it was to show that Tobey was all for saving him, even though Goblin has tried and just tried to kill him. iirc, he stabbed him, then Garfield threw Holland the antidote and he hit Goblin with it.

But yeah, I think they just did it for the Ive been stabbed worse line or whatever it was.

Then kill Tobey off to prove the point for Tom. Don't film what's basically a whole death scene and then "LOL no sell! I've been hit with worse!"

They couldn't kill him off because it means they couldn't make another movie with him

We know that's the reason, but it's still lazy to fake tease a death like that.

It wasn't a whole death scene though, he just fell down and did the silly big eyes Tobey face.

Plus, having him die there would distract from the actual emotional climax, which is Holland having to erase himself to everyone.

Seen it in theaters 3 times now. Everytime, there's people who gasp and scream out "omg don't die, don't die." I thought they were killing him off as well. It's basically presented as a sacrificial lesson until it isn't.

Rumor had it that Tobey was the last one to sign on so Id be surprised if they made more with him. Garfield tho? Could see it.

Would be lame AF for Spider-man to die from 1 stab wound after taking blasts from elecritcity, large hits of blunt force, falls from great heights..etc

basically Peter asks Dr strange to cast a spell that wipes his identity, so that nobody knows he's spider-man, Strange agrees, then Peter tries to change the spell too much so now the opposite effect happens and everyone who knows his spider-man/peter parker identity is pulled into the multiverse, which pulls Sandman, Electro, Doc Ock, Goblin, and The Lizard, among with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. The villains are revealed to have been pulled from when they were just about to die, and the spider-men have seemingly just been chillin because they remember all of these villains, Tobey is noticeably older too. So I guess it just pulls them from random points. Don't think too much into it.
