Because I just cant take them seriously. Instead of advocating for solving real issues men of society face they instead go full incel and put all their problems on women and the patriarchy. And unlike plenty of other groups with a range in their ideals, this was literally the entire community. I think anyone with any positive notions abandoned it when the incel whining ended up being 90% of discourse.

Focusing on issues men face on a societal level is for MRAs. MGTOW is instead a philosophy for individual men to implement in their own personal lives. MGTOWs don't represent anyone but themselves.

It's not about solving anything, which the acronym implies. Nor is it a movement to change anything for that matter. It's a philosophy towards man improving themsevles and discovering self validation without a woman. And bringing awareness to more negative aspects of woman that alot of guys don't discover until its to late.

Not that any of this will matter to anyone, it's already been labeled a hate group the same as MRA and pretty much anything just resembling a predominantly male thing. So, whatever.

It makes sense. While the incel community is largely hateful and bigoted, they still wish they could be with women. But MGTOWs are outright male seperatists who want to avoid women, and often already had bad experiences that embittered them.

This is said by every man before their wife cleans them out in divorce and then fucks them again in family court. After that though all these guys suddenly start saying you guys were right.

Its like no one wants to believe yes the system is that fucked up and yes you will lose most or everything because the court sees you as a wallet with legs.

I don't respect them because they could just live their lives the way they want to, but instead they had to make a whole public "movement" about it and bash women, etc.

It makes the whole thing seem more like a lonely cry for help to please notice them.

To me, MGTOW is a good philosophy. Its basically the mirror to the strong, independent woman thing.

But like so many decent ideas (feminism, BLM, etc), extremists or folks who dont even really understand the point come in and ruin it.

Maybe folks itt agree and they are just talking about the bad people. But the mere mention of mgtow shouldnt have such a reaction imo.

I dunno. I feel men nowadays definitely dont have a place or value in society like they used to. For whatever reason, so many guys attach their value to women.

Which is ironic, because a daughter who wasnt married was a tragedy back in the day (still kinda is unfortunately), but I feel women have more support against that notion.

All in all, dudes being called incels or virgins and stuff may seem small. But I dont think its a coincidence some of these school shooters are social losers. MGTOW, in theory, should address that mindset. But I feel toxic folks took it over. Kinda like anything male oriented tbh.

Not really since it grew significantly from a irrelevant forum niche to mainstream in a very sort time. Until it was inevitably labeled a misogynistic hate group.
