Wouldn't surprise me if it sets up an S2, unless something happens in the finale to change things drastically, it's one of the easiest of the MCU shows to set up a sequel for imo

The Kate and Yelena combo continues to be amazing and they should absolutely get their own show together

Since TT has spoiler warning, I'm speaking freely.

I kinda hated it. It was like they had a bunch of good ideas, but for each one somebody came in and said "ok, but is there a way to make that lame?"

Bring back Fisk? Awesome idea. Make him mini-hulk and maybe kill him? WTF? As I watched him in this show it just made me realize how much better Daredevil was. That was like actual TV.

It's appropriate they bring up larping, because at this point every marvel show seems to be nearly larping at the stakes. If somebody is coming at you and wanting to shoot you in the head with a gun, they aren't also going to want to share a story about their happiness about your relationship advice.

Imagine for a second that any attempt for either the heroes or the henchmen to stop the other resulted in a visible death. But we are supposed to pretend "yeah, they froze his leg off, he's fine, yeah shrapnel is embedded in 25 people, they're fine. Yeah a guy with dubious morals literally sworded 50 people to the ground to the point the people are motionless but they are fine.

BUT MOM, YOU KILLED 1 OLD DUDE, YOU NEED TO GO TO PRISON.

Disney is literally at the point of "what can we milk for cash", and so they take a character like Fisk that another show brilliantly constructed, and milked the fuck out of him. In a pittance of screen time they took my excitement to see Fisk and turned it into frustration and disappointment.

Now if Disney is bringing back Fisk I won't care, not because he's not a great character, not because Dinofrio isn't amazing, but because disney/marvel now insists everything has to be maximum 6 year old logic of stakes and good guys and bad guys.

A good guy can fire a fucking fireball explosion bomb arrow at a bunch of bad guys and we can just go "yeah, I'm sure they are fine, camera didn't zoom in on them, also not only are they fine but our heroes 100% knew everybody would be fine."

You took away their guns, they were 40 feet away, and you jokingly fired a bomb at them. That shit is attempted murder.

At this point there are no rules, there are no stakes, there is no reason to care because it's a bunch of people who in everything they do communicate "none of this matters or is a serious risk" which would be ok enough if they didn't every so often pretend "that guy said no before he was killed so it's bad" or "mommy you have to go to prison because your attempted murder worked. I just shot a man in the chest with an arrow even though that man made it clear he didn't want to fight me, but that wasn't bad because my attempted murder didn't work."

Fuck Disney/Marvel now.

Makes me want to rewatch Daredevil and remember what good TV can be when it's not this mandatory maximum of lukewarm writing and intelligence.

I'll give the producers credit. On paper this is a great idea for a show, but everything past the outline phase really fucked it up.

Also, Clint, it's fucking christmas morning and you've been an absentee father, you can wait 20 fucking minutes to barbeque your suit.

PS: Why was it ok for Clint to kill like 1000 people as the Ronin, but Hawkgirl's mom can't get forgiveness for killing 1? That old guy was kinda shitty. Whose to say he wasn't more evil than henchman #2312 that mustache man slit the throat of with his sword but we never zoomed in on it.

PPS: Seriously though, you are telling me slitting the guts of 40 people with swords and that is not a criminal charge? Everybody's fine? Is it literal larping logic for these scenes?
