Music too loud
Music doesnt sound crisp, likely from being too loud it distorts
lights flashing directly into your eyes
Done late at night

Though give them a pass on being crowdedits understandable.

Well I mean venue is huge- most outdoor shows are going to be really hard to mix right. I went to a Rush show many years ago and they had Alexs guitar turned up to 11 for some songs and you could barely hear half the drums (which for Neil is still like 20 drums lol) it was unbearable without earplugs.

The last real concert I went to was Dream Theater at a medium sized indoor venue and it sounded awesome. It all depends.

I like an outdoor concert where I can lay a blanket down in the grass. Then I like to bring a second blanket for my wife to give me a blowie under after the sun goes down.

Basically, I have sex

You literally made a topic about your wife leaving.

So once again, what wife? And how is this trolling?

If I had to hazard a guess, which I do with tremendous caution because I don't want to risk jumping to conclusions, I would be inclined to believe that he probably had a wife prior to his wife leaving, and that that might be the person to whom he is referring. Possibly.

Because there are very few circumstances in which proactively bringing up the fact that somebody's wife left them is anything more than a deliberate attempt to bother them, and you have not stumbled onto one of those rare exceptions. Grow up, dipshit.

Last concerts I went to were for Sarah Brightman and another for Loreena McKennitt.

Both were in proper theaters w/ seating and the crowd was quiet and respectful, cheering between songs but otherwise staying silent and enjoying the experience.
Great times, both.

Really depends on the type of music/musician.

I'm also a fan of Within Temptation and had a chance to go to a concert of theirs. But it was a 2 hour drive away, on a Wednesday night (I have to work in the morning...), and in a cramped venue w/ standing room only and a mosh pit.
I didn't bother, knew it wasn't for me. Just not an extrovert, I'd hate that sort of concert experience.

For me concerts are about the showmanship. Like ive never been a kiss fan but I'll say ita been one of the better concerts ive been to.

Also went to a Marilyn Manson. (My teenage idol) Concert and he was a better showman but I feel his opener out performed him with their raw energy. Like I didnt know who the fuck they where but they had me pumped

So when reflecting on a story from their past with a former wife, wouldn't the story be told with the context of ex-wife in the past tense, instead of the present tense version that was posted?

Was going to say, I don't think the problem is the concerts, as much as the fact that blu is apparently a curmudgeonly old man.

Nine Inch Nails tends to have fantastic concerts, even if you don't like the band itself all that much. I went to the Lights in the Sky tour with someone who wasn't a NIN fan and they loved it.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GdcKaimHAVU

Erasure's another band who tend to put on ridiculous shows for concerts. Though in an entirely different sort of way.

Neither of those look anywhere near as good on YouTube as they did in person, btw. Concerts tend to be something you kind of have to be there in person for to really appreciate.

as far as the 'crispness' of the music, I recommend moving to different locations in the venue to find somewhere better for listening

I disagree with most concerts being bad, I've been to a hell of a lot of shows. I will agree with you on the 'done late at night' bit - I've been to a few shows that start at 7pm instead and finish at 11pm and it's so awesome.

I've been to a lot of concerts where the audio is so loud, some instruments didn't even need to show up. It'd kinda weird. I have seen zero consistency in this regard.

To me, though, the show experience is worth it....sometimes. A lot of my favorite bands are a little more obscure, but the shows are awesome because they aren't in a stadium. They are on a stage, fairly among the people. A band like Bad Religion can draw a decent crowd, but the show is generally more intimate. If you want to be in the front row, feet from the musicians, just stand in line a few hours before the show or be an asshole and force your way up there as the lights dim for the opener. Same price either way. To me this kind of experience is worth technical sound issues. A lot of these concerts tend to just be noise, and I do not know why.

I think the venue itself is the biggest factor. I've been to a couple concerts here at a place that's basically a big wooden box, and the acoustics are terrible. I literally had to shove wet wadded paper in my ears because I thought they were going to bleed

If im not actually at the concert i dont wanna hear the crowd. I hate live tracks on albums. One exception is one manson song where the instrumentals actually sounded far better in the live version. Can't recall the song name oddly but the main lyric is dont like the drugs but the drugs like me

Crowd noise hasn't been a thing in live albums since like the 70s lol

In between songs maybe. Not during the song lol. And if for some reason he did then it was an artistic choice I guess lol. Crowd noise during songs on live albums is an ancient problem

It was during the song. I'm sure ive heard 80s albums with it too.

I'll concede I'm not privy to how often as I've always avoided live albums due to my dislike of the crowd noise.
