The algorithms are in control at this point. Theyre self learning and the people that built them are struggling to even understand what they are doing at this point.

This video sounds interesting but I am not sure I want to spend that half hour watching it. Is there a way you could give the main gist?

Oh yeah somebody sent this to me last week. There's a lot of issues with this theory, and some just straight up wrong information. Like the part about googling pizza. You can't just google pizza and expect to get anything out of it. It has always been that case that if you want information about a subject on google that you need to be very specific with your search query.

If I google pizza I expect to see some pictures of pizza and boobs dammit

even we cant have that then why even have freedom at all

It essentially states that the internet is now just a runaway algorithm run by AI. The same way Facebook uses their algorithm to manipulate behavior, the internet as a whole is now functioning the same way. It's becoming a concern that there is more bot traffic than human, and even the people who run all of the major systems can't differentiate what's real or fake, or whether it's being driven by actual human beings or not.

Sorry not interested in random crap that targets low intelligence people that's as relevant as the NPC theory that sprang up in conservative media a couple of years ago.

Its more than that. Depends on your area, and previous searches, as well And sometimes, what was said earlier You could get exactly what youre looking for. I would say being more specific would be good. But not super specific. Just certain keywords based on what youre looking for. Ive been teaching my friend about it. He writes like specific long questions on Google. I take his sentence and shorten it to like 3-10 words. And get better results because of it And faster, too

NPC theory has been around for a long ass time, but interesting you first saw it in "conservative media", says something about your internet habits.

you can see this just by looking at how gamefaqs is now compared to 15 years ago. You're an old account too, you must know the difference. Gamefaqs is trying its hardest not to fall into the trap, but most people have imo. What do you think? FYI I've thought this before watching the video. Even people seem to follow an algorithm on the internet now. I don't see no more I AM CROATIA topics like i saw on the NFL board years ago. People just repeat the same tropes in a way that yes, people followed whats popular back in the day and copied, but now there's no human element to it. Internet back in the late 90s and early 2000's was like anime to use the example from the video. Gamefaqs does better than most at not being dead internet, but it still is probably pass the threshold where people don't want to be the odd man out and just follow cookie cutters ways for behaving in a way that isn't natural development of the internet, but more of a corportized type of way of behaving with an internet twang to it. Twitch is more internet than the internet at this point.
