I know, whatever happens I hope it will be benefit overall to society and not make things worse. I think UBI is gonna be necessary or things are gonna get real dark.

Honestly, theyll probably get dark, anyway. Even if they wanted to do UBI, theres no real good way to implement and start it that I can see

UBI has had long-term tests in loads of places now, it's pretty promising

I heard of them. Though, the tests never really covered anything I wanted to know about. But either way, I still dont see a good place or way to start it. Like for everyone instead of a test group

imo slashing bloated military spending abroad would cover most of it

I feel like it could happen to my job (truck driving) within my lifetime, but I think that it'll take a while before truck drivers are fully replaced. I think early on that automated trucks will have truck drivers in them for a number of years, possibly decades, as a failsafe.

I feel like my career is secure for the foreseeable future, but I keep my ear to the ground with this shit and have already discussed possibly going to school for something, as a back-up plan

From what I hear, they need it in certain places. That said, right now, most of the military needs money

they might need it but Im against it. I think the modern US military is largely just militarized industrial complex that exists only to sustain itself above all else

I am in a job where automation is crucial since we don't have enough graduates to cover the amount of people graduating vs going on sick leave or retiring. Also, thanks to the rise of failed ideologies, birth rates declined all over the west and thus the population is aging, thus need more attention and treatments. Also, people die at older age, once again increasing the need for healthcare. If it wasn't for technological improvements and automation, we wouldn't be able to function at all within the next 2 years, at least in my line of work.

Sure, losers are going to lose their jobs because they made poor choices, but there will always be alternatives for people who think ahead and realize that meritocracy and adaptability, rather than failed, entitled ideologies, will continue to prevail.

but there will always be alternatives

There really won't. I'll be very surprised if there's more than a century left of automation being truly incapable of taking over every job in the world. I fully expect the people profiting from automation's rise to deliberately hamstring it so they can artificially retain their power for as long as possible, but that's not going to last forever (if nothing else, the extreme class divide that would create would likely result in a revolution).

You say this like you want to brainwash the population into wanting more children. That's not so much the result of any "ideology" as it is just letting people make their own decisions about whether or not they want kids. Given that the alternative is to force those that don't want kids to reproduce (whether directly or via cultural pressure), and that's outright dystopian, I don't think you should be complaining about that.

It only looks like that from someone outside. Most of us have normal jobs. And my squadron, for example, has been doing more against drug smugglers. Mostly just catching them, I guess But most just have normal jobs. Like cooking or office personnel

That's a neat picture, but clearly very small scale test. Like someone did it as a hobby, or a senior project or something. That neural net is only trained on a few items. Granted it's probably scalable. Few issues:

  1. As the total number of items expand, the slower the CNN will take to classify
  2. Inconclusive classifications would still need to be done by hand
  3. Customers could cheese this by pasting a picture of something cheap on something expensive

That being said, I think advanced AI is the next BIG thing. Like comparable to the invention of computers or industrialization.
