for those who have it, which system/controller do you play with?

does it feel good with a gamecube controller? switch pro controller? dualshock? some other??

It feels bad with everything. Don't waste your money.

I'd avoid Gamecube. It has three attack buttons that you'll cycle through (Light, Heavy, and Special) and the smaller X and Y buttons make that feel a bit awkward. Switch Pro and Dualshock work just fine in my experience.

Tested for about an hour on PC, then refunded and got it on Switch so I could compare the online directly to Smash.

Pro Controller for me, and yeah with 3 attack buttons it messes with your Smash muscle memory.

I think the game is good despite all the hate it's getting but it's so bare bones it's easy to get bored of quickly. It's pretty sad how Nickelodeon rushed the devs to meet the holiday deadlines only for it to die by November.

I hope it pulls a Street Fighter 5 and redeems itself with DLC but things have gone so quiet about this game...

Seriously, if you follow the devs for this game, you legit feel bad for them because of how Viacom has been treating it despite the devs putting their all into the game. It's a small blessing that they didn't decide to cancel all further updates because of how the scene died like 2 weeks after release.

As for the topic at hand, I have it on PS4, so I use Dualshock 4. I think pretty much any standard controller should work fine with it.

I got it on PC and I played with an Xbox (One?) controller. You have to mash your dash button about 100 times a minute to be competitive so if you're serious about playing then base your decisions completely on that.

That is not an exaggeration either; the game is legit faster than melee. Also if you're just looking to play casual with friends or something then I would recommend just sticking with Smash or a different game. Maybe it'll be a different story if the game gets more support but right now I can't recommend it.

Considering GameMill and Nick have been putting out crappy shovelware games for a while now, I can't really feel sorry for Ludosity here. They backed the wrong horse

It's a cheap Smash ripoff, so it ignored most of the things that make Smash fun and enjoyable, doubled with the hype going in being 'THIS IS THE SMASH KILLER' then it turned out to be well below the standards set over 20 years ago, so much like many games that relied on being anti-X company to hit it big, that negativity that built the game turned into mockery of the game.

Personally I really detest the speed of the game.

Smash people are like OMG it's so fast and technical! Love!

If your character can perform like 10 attacks in 1 second, that doesn't mean it's a good game or good for competitive play. It looks janky as hell and stupidly annoying to follow. It also makes it look cheap since animations last for 0.1 seconds.

The voices are definitely hard to ignore, but it's mostly just indicative of the bigger experience. It feels unfinished. The single player mode is lackluster even by fighting game standards and was clearly an after thought at best. Secondary modes are basically non-existent, and playing the game feels janky and rough, with knockdowns feeling frustratingly long and frequent compared to moves that go so fast you can't even really see what the animation is supposed to be

no time or money basically. Nick set the release date for oct 5 and wouldnt let it be changed for whatever reason and didnt give a big enough budget for voices/music/etc

the game is good but yeah theres not much to it. theyre still going to be adding to it at least so maybe itll eventually get to where it should be :/

It's so weird Garfield got in the game before Squidward, Rocko, Angry Beavers, Jenny, Jimmy Neutron and other major Nick characters. Like I know Viacom owns the rights now but I don't ever remember seeing Garfield on Nick growing up. I'm not against Garfield being the game but he seems like he would have been better if there was like 40 characters already and most of the missing Nick characters were already in.

Like if they had to put some retro cartoon character not really originated with Nickelodeon I would have rather had Inspector Gadget or Alvin and the Chipmunks, at least that was on Nick during rerun filler.

There was I think like 10 DLC character placeholder folders found in the game who probably are going to be paid DLC, the first two characters were always going to be free and that was said before the game came out.
