Board 8 > I'm thinking about buying Kirby Star Allies or New Pokemon Snap for my sister

Both are on a wishlist of hers, and I just don't know which one I should get if I do go in that direction. She never played the original Pokemon Snap, and if she has ever played a Kirby game before, it had to have been Super Star. I know nothing about either game and figured dozens of you must have.

I had some fun with KSA, and if she has friends to play with it could be a big winner. Local co-op is so undervalued these days, but the game does it pretty well. It's not a world changing game, but it's the kind of game that you can really build fond memories with if you sit down with a friend or three to play it.

I haven't played NPS but want to. I actually don't have a deep love for the original, but I also only played it as a rental. Considering the fact that they also gave the game some free DLC, this game sounds like good value to me if she's more of a single player type of gamer.

Since they're both on her wishlist then that defines my rec - if she has IRL friends to play with KSA is great, if she doesn't NPS is better.

I absolutely adored New Pokemon Snap and I consider it a legitimate GOTY contender. Vastly better than the original, surprisingly high amount of content, and there's nothing about it I wouldn't recommend whole-heartedly. Haven't played KSA but there's my review of NPS.

Aside from a few lackluster "boss" sections New Pokemon Snap is a lot of what I would have wanted from a Pokemon Snap sequel.

I also think NPS is one of the better games this year. Had a lot of fun with it and I honestly wouldn't be surprised if it got some more DLC. Especially good if, like me, you like the Pokemon universe, but are kinda burned out on the mainline games.

Both are among the best Switch games.

Kirby Star Allies is one of the better Kirby games and lots of fun with friends.

Both are good choices. I would choose Kirby, however, because it has strong single player and multiplayer options. I enjoyed playing the Kirby game with my wife and son.

I wasn't a huge fan of Kirby Star Allies. It was fine but it felt too short.

As someone who was waiting 20 years for a Pokemon Snap sequel and loves the everloving shit of it the original, New Pokemon Snap is exactly what I wanted. It's pretty fuckin wild how good it turned out.

Kirby Star Allies is really fun as well, had a blast playing it with my partner. I haven't played too many Kirby games before but I had a general idea of them, the end especially was really cool.
