All caught on my Ring. Couldn't get the plate but filed a report already.

I live on the corner of a busy intersection so it's pretty ballsy.

Also he stole it literally minutes after UPS dropped it off.

People suck.

Also there is something surreal about watching it get stolen live and not being able to do anything about it (watching from the office).

Wasn't going to call 911 but I was dialing the non emergency line as it happened and took a good 5 minutes to reach someone.

Police came by in 30 minutes so that was nice.

Do you work in an office? I know a lot if people have their packages delivered to their office for this very reason. Sorry this happened to you though. Package thieves suck.

Yes, on some days. Home from others. But I don't think it's open on weekends. The problem is Amazon sometimes comes early or late and then it throws off when I think I'll be home to receive it.

Yeah, had this happen to me and it kind of makes me wonder why package delivery works like this in the first place since it's so easy for people to just take things.

And even when I request certain delivery instructions (like leaving the package in a specific place, or not leaving it at all) they just completely ignore it anyway. It's so frustrating.

I'm sorry people are crappy. If it's any consolation, it sounds like the guy works based on opportunity and doesn't specifically target anyone. It also sounds like he's dumb (caught on camera) and brazen (in a busy area), so he'll get caught eventually.

Yeah, I always use Amazon Locker now when I can. But it doesn't help for other packages. Or when Amazon delivery decides to not make it an option seemingly at random...

Good news - heard back from the two Amazon sellers and they're resending free of charge.

AND just heard from the officer on the case and they caught the mfer. Now I guess I can go through property division and see if they get the items back.

I'm happy they were able to catch the bastard. Here's hoping he learns his lesson in jail over the next few years (if not longer - depends on how much he'd filched).

I'm even happier that the sellers are sending you replacements, in case Mr. Badguy sold it off already. If he didn't, you can offer to send one back to the seller (they'll probably say no, so you get two!).
