This story apparently ran on the news here and that was enough to wake me up.

Actually cranberry sauce was number 1 but I'm going to say that doesn't count as a dish but a topping.

Vindicated and such.

Also not my yearly topic the story just woke me up and now I'm restless

Odd. I eat turkey year-round, and some of my favorite memories as a kid was getting a cupful of shredded turkey while "helping out" (just sorting silverware and things) with a holiday dinner at a firehouse for my dad's volunteer company.

A bit of salt and gravy, and it was soooo good.

The millions of turkeys which are killed for every Thanksgiving disagree. This is just another one of those "hating it because it is popular" responses.

With that said, lamb is my family's meat choice for Thanksgiving, though that's mostly because we probably ate around 20 turkeys a year so it wasn't a special dish.

I love turkey. I'll fully admit that I am weird though. Only common Thanksgiving dish I would put it over is mashed potatoes, but like Turkey, depends on how it was prepared.

Cranberry sauce has quite a range of quality. I can understand not liking the canned jelly but chopped up cranberries with sugar and orange rind are fantastic.

If we're going by favorites even then it's a weird comparison and goes more towards personal preference. I like stuffing and black olives better, and we had ample of both at my table.

This is the correct take. Dark meat is the juicy solution to the dry bird people might be used to.

And people who don't like stuffing: wtf? It's soft, seasoned bread. The hell is wrong with you?
Bottom-tier foods are things like sweet potatoes, corn, or anything made with marshmallows in it for some reason.

It's super easy to make juicy and delicious, but people overcook it until it's dry as hell and don't season it properly. It's such a disaster I want to go into every person's home and make it for them right..

And stuffing is so different recipe to recipe that I can't see how anyone could actually rank this. Some stuffing with sausage is the fucking tits.

People also cook it breast side up instead of breast side down. Like why are you trying to moisten the back of the turkey?

I liked dark meat when I was much younger, but I now prefer white meat. I dont remember what caused me to switch.
