Delita has a unique that gives the party 50% crit chance and physical blink, which is pretty silly for half a bar. Counter Tackle is what it's called.

Ho lordy lordy LORD am I glad to finally have bested this fucker! I had to get Seymour's HA even though I was reluctant because he won't make a dark mage team but I didn't really have any other HA I wanted to make for the Dr. Mog's homework, but this proves IT WAS WORTH IT!

Now with FFX dragonking boards finally unlocked I can try phsyical Salamander, but I need to clear my head by walking the dog first.

I'm hoping I can get away with not making Seymour/Lulu/Yunas' HAs for Sin (obviously not making Braska's). I could also try to use Tidus now that I have his SASB2+AASB1 but I don't know if it's worth it without bringing a source of imperil.

You'll definitely want Yuna's HA for Sin.

Braska's HA is actually pretty good despite being 4 hits, well that's if you have his sync. The extra fire damage lets him hit higher numbers with his sync command 1.

Rikku can imperil with the water thief 6* ability or his USB.

Yeah, all I have for Rikku is her dyad though and I don't think it'd be worth using up two party slots just so I can bring Tidus if he can't just shrug off the barwater.

Do you mean the fire buff on Braska's HA? Because ignoring that it's only like 5% stronger than Lunar Ifrit. In any case I only have his awakening and going from Anima to Seymour's HA would definitely be a bigger upgrade.

Oh if you don't have Braska's sync don't bother with his HA, they were basically made hand in hand.

With the Dragonking buffs and hero gear for Wakka and Lulu I also finally sub30 Sin!



Yes! Never have to do this annoying as fuck fight ever again! Only Shadowsmith left to sub30 and all Dreambreakers are done!

Magic Ifrit defeated in 46.30!

That was way too frustrating. Really wish I had a half decent water sync. The trick was making sure Rydia, Gogo, and Arc all had 2 stacks of water infusion before phase two, so none got berserked (since none would get hit with painflare). Had Arc use his AASB early, since he was my reraised sacrificial lamb, then Rydia after the pillars died in phase 2. Killed him towards the end of the second chain, all AASBs exhausted. Still need two more kills to make a defensive Ifrit, but will do that with my physical team later.

That's my first 6* with both physical and magical defeated. Think I'll go after Titan next, as my magic wind team is fairly good, with Ultimecia SASB1+2, AASB1, Emperor SASB1, AASB1, Alph SASB1, AASB1, and Onion Knight SASB3, AASB1. Alph has my wind chain, so he's in by default, along with likely Mog and Elarra. Ultimecia should likely be in too, so that last slot is between Emperor and OK.

Also that team will steamroll Titan (especially since you have a chain so you can take Mage and use that plus a magicite summon for the walls).

Actually now Im second guessing myself whether the 6* magicite use kills a wall itself or not (since magic was my first 6* and by the time I got around to physical I used wodin). In any case it sounds like you have another option for that!

In fact you should be able to beat WOdin with that team! Ultimecia has anti-aegis on her bUSBs entry but you shouldnt even need it unless you want to go for a sub-30 or something.

Yeah, that wasnt difficult thankfully, a nice break from Ifrit. Magic Titan defeated in 26.56.

Basically got Alphs chain up about 12ish seconds in, and let loose. Fabula mage destroyed two walls, emperor another. Elarra and Mog are a nice healing/buffing combo too.

I'm finally doing that right now. Between previous missions that gave copies of the 6* magicites, and the half stamina magicite battles right now, and not needing to farm crystals, it felt like the time to do it.

So, defensive copies are spell ward and blade ward, right? What do people usually put on the offensive ones? Is an extra elemental boon valuable?

I have my wards on odin but yeah I think people usually do either wards or health/healing or maybe health/fast act? I think with the odin seal double empower on the offensive copy is also kinda suspect. I'm still slightly confused about the optimal setup myself though so don't necessarily listen to me!

Makes sense. There are a lot of ways you can split your passives. Right now I have attack/magic boon and fast act on my Odins. My "offensive" 6* are mostly HP Boon and Mind Boon. I have a few different Madeens but one I always use is HP and healing, and usually I use HP/magic or attack/crit chance. I think I probably want to put the new 18% elemental boosts on my offensive 6*. My least useful ones are probably 2nd attack/magic, and fast act. So I think my new plan will be:

Odin - atk/mag, fastcast
Offensive 6* - 18* element, mind
Defensive 6* - blade ward, spell ward
Madeen 1 - HP, healing
Madeen 2 - HP, HP

The issue with magicite decks is that nobody agrees about what's best anymore.

I currently have
- double Wards on Odin
- double empower on offensive 6*
- HP Boon and Healing boon on defensive 6*

I like it, but I think double empower might be a bit of a waste with Odin Seals and 6* blessings also around.

Yeah, I think double empower is unnecessary now since that's effectively 4 empowers. The 4th one is only worth 1.75% and I think it's actually less than that because it's elemental damage and doesn't stack multiplicatively with gear and other element bonuses.

Magicite passives stack multiplicatively with everything else.

Empower 15
3 empowers = +27%
4 empowers = +29%

If 1 Empower 18 is possible (right now only Water and Fire)
3 empowers = +30%
4 empowers = +32%

If 2 Empower 18 are possible (sometime in the future)
3 empowers = +30%
4 empowers = +33%

The 4th empower really doesn't do much, but the question is what else you want to put there. Not to mention, that 2% can be the difference between breaking savage mode or not breaking it, which snowballs your damage output.

Daily ticket #5: 3/10: Alphinaud SASB1!, Jecht AASB2, Aemo USB

Yayyy now I can replace Alphys healing sync! I have heard that this is not as good as his AASB and now he really wont have the bars to chain, but still very happy to get this!

The Jecht AASB looks quite good; too bad Sin seems to incentivize the magic team so hard

I keep pulling garbage on this banner. Desch AASB is still my only non-lenseable new relic.

Yeah honestly he was already very solid with just his dyad + AASB! I still need a wind chain though so I dont know whether to pile more on to Alphinaud or build up Fujin from nothing; I managed the wodin with RW chain but I imagine that wont cut it for Sandworm.

Actually now that I think about it hes my first character to have a dyad+sync+awakening; might be fun to try to hit some 39999s!

Regarding the defensive 6*s, I'm thinking HP+healing, yeah. Gave me an excuse to make an auto Lakshmi team at least, which kills her in 14ish seconds. I literally forgot that I had Shadow's Sync, that thing can get pretty crazy. I also have his AASB, though he never gets a chance to use it on that team, Lakshmi dies too quick lol.

Fujin's sync and awakening 2 are on fest banner 5 so if you're looking to build her up that's the place to do it. Lots of other good stuff on that banner too. Her first awakening will be in the next lens shop update but that's still a ways off.

Yeah, at that point it's all tradeoffs between marginal bonuses... which is part of why I haven't worried too much about optimizing it before now. If I'm doing the math right, a second stat boon is still worth about 50 points even with Sage's Blessing 15 and two Stat Boon 10s. A 3rd HP boon is worth about 400 HP. If you 100% crit fix then deadly strikes is worth 5% (but less because you're probably capping). If you don't have a crit fix precise strikes will let you break rage when you wouldn't have so it's very useful.

I like having my most standard boosts (2 HP, Blade Ward, Spell Ward, 1 element boost, and 1 attack or magic) on Odin and 6*s, and then having different Madeens I can swap depending on the fight. I think I'm going to drop the mind boons except for when using a holy magic team.

Alphinaud has a neat trick if you combine his sync and awakening if you put chain tornado in slot 1. His sync is wind and his awakening is summon and since his sync command 1 is a summon attack he'll use it twice and then chain tornado! You can also use chain tornado to build meter if summon uses are a problem.

I got Setzer's instant cast+full atb lmr with today's ticket. I never use him even though I have his awakening.

Ah yeah I think I remember hearing about the sync+AASB combo; I guess with chain tornado though youre giving up the SMN damage formula. Ill have to do some testing!

Basically, the overall multiplier is lower but you get more hits, so it may be worth it if you're hitting the 29999 cap with his HA. If you don't hit the cap with his HA then it's better to just doublecast that. The main reason is because the summon damage bonuses on his dive and the rank bonus from the awakening give a big boost to his HA the black magic spell doesn't get.

Enemies used to drop greens in older versions of the daily dungeons and there were event dungeons where FF9 characters would get extra greens. The OSB passive is pretty much worthless now though.

Also doing using either the chain tornado or HA/Dark Valefor is a viable thing, you can use chain tornado to build chain or summons to break boss rages. I did both against Sandworm, using the command+CT during the wall to rebuild chain really fast, and HA to break rages and then the command again when he was at 1/0 rage to do a lot of damage.

I'm still not really sure if it makes sense to get them since I kind of think Cait Sith is better for Magic and Orran/Quina are better for physical. I know people do use Cait Sith and Mog together but I'm not sure that's necessary.

That depends on how much time you're willing to spend. Avoid green paintings, maybe Yellow, most of the time Red unless I don't feel like sitting through the loading screens and just want to get the labyrinth over with.

No, exploration paintings are always better than battle paintings. The only real question is whether you take battle paintings over portals. Battle paintings have a chance of giving you something but they also slow you down, so I usually skip them completely unless there's an exploration or treasure hiding behindthem.

I will get it for Bio labyrinth eventually but that's a long time away) Ashe 2 is there as well and she'd be better than Y'shtola for sure against magic Kraken. Eiko sync would be nice for FF9 Bahamut as well. Decisions decisions...
