I'm not sure that I can make you understand how serious I'm being when I say it smelled and tasted exactly like vomit. I'm not exaggerating.

If you had me smell it blindfolded I would have thought somebody just puked in their hands in put it under my nose.

To be honest, even pure apple-juice tastes just a little bit like vomit to me (only a little), unless it's tri-apple blend. I don't know what it is. I love apples, but apple juice is a little pukey aside from the one kind, and apple cider is literally just the smell and taste of vom.

While I'm at it, here's another thing.

You ever tilt your head back to pop some pills into your mouth, but the pills land wrong, or you couldn't swallow them all the way? And all the sudden you're overcome by the most intense bitterness ever. That chalky pill bitterness can't even be washed away with water.

I get the same bitterness from poppy-seeds, but also from, get this -- red and pink food coloring. To the point where I have to scrape some of the poppy-seeds off of my everything bagel and I absolutely can NOT tolerate red or pink frosting, and sometimes even pink candies (mainly PEZ).

Is the food coloring thing just me??
I've wondered for a while if anyone else got it too...

Granted, I know I am a bit odd because sugar tends to have a waxy taste for me (one of the reasons I can't stand sugar), but hot apple cider smells or tastes nowhere near vomit.

It was cider.
I know that because the wasps couldn't get enough of it. They practically swarmed to dispenser to try and drink from it. And other people were drinking it. But to me it was just pure vomit.

It's more likely I just don't like cider.

And it's also possible that the cider I had was just a really shitty brand. But I agree that it's tasting like vomit might be unique to me and a few others. That's just because things taste different to different people. You think my mouth is broken but I could just as well think your mouth is broken.

Shit's just different -- and it really is jarring, on both sides.

Are u sure u didn't drink actual vomit?

I don't know of any condition (in the same vein as people that find cilantro tastes soapy or that can smell cyanide) that causes cider and vomit to taste the same. That's pretty weird.

You didn't mention if you tasted any cinnamon since, to create apple cider, people usually use cinnamon sticks and leave the apple juice to simmer for a few hours before it's served. If they didn't have the apple juice simmer with cinnamon sticks, it might still taste like warmed apple juice.

All I could taste was vomit.

It's also possible that it was just shitty cider, but getting puke taste from apple juice is something else that may be unique to me. Normally it isn't that bad, but it being warm just made it unbearable.

Like I said above, unusually, I don't get any pukey taste from a tri-apple blend apple juice. Just the normal stuff.
So does this also mean I won't get any pukey taste from a tri-apple blend cider? Possibly

It's just the chocolate flavoring that they have in chocolate cake / ice cream. It doesn't taste like chocolate. It tastes like dirt.

I think it's good. I don't know why it smelled and tasted like vomit to you.

I read once that cooked macaroni and cheese "objectively" smells and tastes very close to vomit, but most people don't think that because they know it's not vomit. Maybe something similar is going on here.

Just regular milk chocolate.

It's tasty, but it's rich, and it fills me up fast -- so I can't stomach eating a lot. Same goes with other sweet foods.
