First time.

So anyway it's in there with seasonings, water, and broccoli. It's boneless raw chicken breast.

It's been in there on high for 3 hours and 30 min. Should I let it stay in there another hour? Lol

Are you following a specific recipe? That's the way to go.

You should be good since it's boneless chicken breast, and not a whole chicken.

Don't fuck with meat temperature, get a meat thermometer and never worry about food again.

this. a meat thermometer is like $10. definitely cheaper than food poisoning

Crock pots are tricky for chicken breast but basically 4 hours on high should be enough. Pull a piece out and cut it open to be sure.

Yeah it will be in there to transfer heat, its the intended way to use it for sure

You might be able to throw something in with no liquid though depending on what it is

One hour later looks cooked but I saw a small amount of pink in there.

I'm learning to cook so I know this won't be super great but I'm just surviving Idc rn lol.

What's a good thing to throw in next time? Chicken broth instead of water? How much? Because I'm gonna do a grocery order today. Thx

If you want to do it really basic

Depending on what fits in the crockpot
1/1/1 carrot onion potato, you can up that to 222 or 333 depending on the amount of meat

Chicken stock, and a whole chicken

Put just the chicken and chicken stock and onions in, put on high for maybe 2 hours, the switch to low, then maybe 2 hours before you want to eat put it on high again, put the carrots and potatoes in

Its really not scientific, as long as you cook the chicken a long time it will fall apart, as long as you dont do anything weird it will taste fine

Don't fuck with meat temperature, get a meat thermometer and never worry about it again.

Recipes, temperatures, times, etc mean nothing in a practical world where room temperature, humidity, no two heating elements being the same, etc affect variables.

A meat thermometer will straight up tell you when it's done with none of the guessing.

Not a fan of doing this type of stuff I like when cookings about feel

But I do use it if it a turkey/prime rib, or Im cooking something weird for the first time

The recipes I use for boneless chicken breasts call for LOW for only 3-4 hours. You really don't need to go overboard unless you're planning on shredding it for tacos or something.

Slow cooked meat can look slightly pink. Even pork shoulder cooked for 10 hours. It doesn't mean it's not done. And you can throw whatever you want in there. I usually cover everything at least 3/4 of the way with broth.
